James Hansen, the controversial scientist at the centre of the global warming movement has turned on America’s Democrat party in a shock announcement, savaging past Democrat administrations for “huge mistakes” that denied America the possibility of producing zero carbon emissions energy by now.
Andy Revkin of the New York Times reported that Hansen was not happy with the current Obama administration, as despite offering his services “I never heard back anything from the White House”. This “lame” approach, he said could be seen in past Democrat administrations:
Nowhere is the lame middle-of-the-road go-slow compromise approach clearer than in the case of nuclear power. The [Obama] Administration has been reluctant to admit that the Carter and Clinton/Gore administrations made a huge mistake in pulling the U.S. back from development of advanced nuclear technology.
That is the way to make nuclear power safer (nuclear power already has the best safety record of any major industry in the United States) and resistant to weapons proliferation

Hansen also slammed President Obama for buckling to advocacy groups who impede progress on nuclear power, rather than being a “responsible leader” and authorizing a major new programme of building new nuclear power stations:
Nevertheless, the easiest thing that he could do, and perhaps the best that we can hope for, is for him to give a strong boost to nuclear power.
Unfortunately, he seems to fall prey to Democratic politics on this, rather than being a responsible leader.

Hansen’s comments may well be a dig at blogger Joe Romm, formerly Acting Assistant Secretary at the Department of Energy for the Clinton administration. Despite frequently proclaiming global warming to be an existential threat to humanity, Romm has hindered the move to low emissions energy by waging a campaign against nuclear power, which – as Hansen notes – has “the best safety record of any major industry”. Why is Romm ignoring the advice of the scientists he himself champions? Is it science, or is it politics?
Opinion:
This is a perfect example of how the campaign over man-made global warming is a political campaign far more than a scientific one. Nuclear power could provide the zero or low emissions energy that the warmists claim is desperately needed to save the world.
Yet they campaign virulently against it, on spurious grounds. They demand that we listen to the scientists on global warming. Yet, when those same scientists say that nuclear power is safe and should be pursued on a massive scale, they go silent, or point to a fringe minority who advocate against it on ideological grounds.
Why?

In no way would I ever agree with anything Hansen said, but I do see a lot of irony here.
If Obama agreed to push for build 100 new nuclear plants, like McPain wanted to do, the unions would be the biggest winners, as thousands of union workers - professional, skilled and unskilled - would be working full time for years.
So, unions pushed their members to vote for Obama, and Obama stabs those workers in the back. Irony.
Hansen is pro-Nuc? Maybe I need to rethink my position.
Obama would do well to fire this charlatan.
Al Gore had a net worth of a few million, when he left office, but is worth many hundreds of millions now.
Interesting how we keep hearing about big business paying big money to oppose the AGW scam, but the money being made from promoting the scam is orders of magnitude larger.
You have to understand that the Union leadership does not give a damn about the rank and file members. The leadership of all the major unions has been taken over by radical leftists looking to destroy the private sector and the jobs it provides.
Odd, it appears that the Environmental advisors don’t last long in a president’s cabinet. I wonder what is going on?
They oppose nuclear power, because when you play politics, you need villains, or potent crises to exist, so that you can keep peddling yourself as the “good guy”. They hold off on nuclear energy now, because if it appears that the problem is solved, their fundamentalist cult of “climate change” would be threatened, there wouldn’t be an unsolved problem to project. They need the myth of a climate armageddon without solution to keep propagating to keep the power, so they oppose nuclear energy. This system was described by Patrick Moore as his reason for leaving Greenpeace. Nuclear energy was capable of handling what he perceived as Climate Change all too well, yet his organization wouldn’t support it, so he left the group.
Why is this guy and the rest of the fraudsters at the GISS still recieving funding?

Those four articles each show that Greenhouse Theory has no basis in reality due to a direct conflict with the known laws of physics. No wonder the smoking gun "hotspot" can't be found.
Claim That Sea Level Is Rising Is a Total Fraud
That article pretty much puts the kibosh on any serious trend of planetary warming from any cause. Think about it. If there is absolutely no sign at all of rising sea levels how could the planet be warming? Beyond the centuries long slow warming of the earth and rising of the seas of course. But that is only a few millimeters per century due to the inter-glacial period we are in.
Considering his life’s “work” has been a fraud....its somewhat understandable as it has been exposed as such.
