It's nuts but I love you: One squirrel's bizarre obsession with a garden statue of a dog
Daily Mail ^ | 5th February 2011 | Daily Mail Reporter

A squirrel's fascination with a statue of a dog has brought hours of light entertainment to a Russian suburb.

The frisky rodent looked confused as to why the dog wasn't moving and cannot seem to get its head around the fact that it is an ornament and not real.

The picture was taken by a photographer in the garden of his house just outside of Moscow.

This thread is funny. Your pic of the Poms treeing the squirrel is hilarious. I can just imagine what a pack of Chihuahuas would do, lol. Toy dogs, tiny but mighty, if only in their own minds. :)

Finally found the image we need here *interpretive dance from a Russian red squirrel via the Bolshoi and Nureyev*.

Stroke ‘o luck...I Goggled *Russian red squirrel* and the interpretive dance image reminded me of Nureyev when I horizontal flipped the image. Glad you enjoyed it!;)

Hahaha...love the squirrel’s ear fur. He’s every bit as graceful as Nureyev, but far more cute.

I never understood Jamie Wyeth's fascination with Nureyev. There's a room at Chadds Ford full of the works... kinda creepy.

For some reason, I’m hearing Mel Blanc whispering sweet nothings with a French accent.

THe best story I have with a pet & skunk is the one about this pure white cat we had...she was deaf. She tangled with a skunk and came home smelling awful. We always keep several cans of tomato juice on hand b/c the dogs would invariably come home stinkin'! We lived next to a 100 acre wood w/ endless possibilities. We washed the cat with strongsoap and tomato juice...only problem [we weren't thinking at the time of the consequences, only about not getting clawed to death] she came out just fine..only the red juice dyed her pure white fur pink. She was outraged for months..it was pretty funny!
