A Fort Myers man is under investigation after he allegedly sent a pornographic picture to a 9-year-old boy's cell phone. The man claims it was a mistake.
According to the Ty'Ge Davis' family, the X-rated text came in about a week ago. The third grader showed his grandmother, who was totally shocked even at her advanced age.
The text message was a picture of a woman performing oral sex on a couch.
"That was too old for me," Ty'Ge said. "I wasn't ready for that."
He handed the phone to his grandmother, Dorothy Moore.
"I am like let me see that text and I am like wow," she told NBC News in Naples.
Moore sent a reply message informing the texter that the pic had been sent to a little kid, but by then a second explicit picture had come in.
That's when the unidentified texter claimed he was trying to sell the couch in the picture and it was the only pic he could find of the furniture.
Davis' family handed his phone to the Lee County Sheriff's Office, which is now investigating the situation.
"It's puzzling and belittling to me that you can sit there and say this is the only picture you can find to send to somebody advertising a couch," Moore said. "Now that was desperate for a sale if he was going to do that."
I don’t think 9 year olds need cell phones.
....
Plus, people are stupid.
The same media that is “shocked” about this are the same liberals that think this kid is perfectly mature enough to make his own decisions about sex.
LOL
Stop it! I just woke the dog...
“This is just shocking... a nine year old with a cell phone?!”
While I don’t think the govt should enact age restrictions on private property, 9 is a little young. I also feel adult content could be passed accidentally. You must demonstrate intent as unfortunate as this is...
but 9 year old with cell phone?”
Latest thing Amish parents are buying their male children - along with giving more and more of them names used during previous generations such as Ty’Ge.
Young people have been criminally charged with child pornography for sending sexy photos of themselves to their friends.
I see quite a few things wrong with this..
- Nine year old with a cell phone? seriously?
- Like, does his grandmother like speak proper English?
- Ty’Ge? What kind of name is that? The only place I’ve seen a name like that is in Isaac Asimov or Star Wars...
- Only pic the seller could send? most phones that can send multimedia texts also have a camera built-in.. He needs to come up with a better ‘accidental’ cover story.
As to the providing indecent material to a minor, considering that you are required to be 18 to sign up for a cell phone, I would say it is safe to legally assume the recipient is 18, in which case it is no longer a minor.
Wow. Couches have changed a bit since my day. They used to be content with a kiss goodnight.
;)
(And a 9 y.o. with a cell phone? For pete’s sake.)
His cat actually took the picture, and misdialed the number. You know, they are all thumbs sometimes. I do not trust my cats with complex tasks just for this reason.
Guessing it was not a Victorian couch.
Only 8 posts so far and this thread is headed for the FR Hall of Fame!
The prosecutors were going to charge all the boys who either sent or received the photos for possession and distribution of child pornography..... until someone asked why the girls were not being charged for CREATION and distribution of child pornography.
Charges were dropped.
Dittos to everything you said, plus a “WTF?” at the end of it...
