Partial Apology from GOProud

'Asked for GOProud’s response, the group’s chairman apologized for his comments about Cleta Mitchell. “For the past six months, we have watched as unfair and untrue attacks have been leveled against our organization, our allies, our friends and sometimes even their families. Everyone has their breaking point and clearly in my interview with Metro Weekly I had reached mine. I shouldn’t have used the language that I did to describe Cleta Mitchell and for that I apologize,” said Chris Barron.'

Still no apology to Sen. Jim DeMint or others for saying they belonged on the "island of misfit toys." No apology either for calling Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council a "bigot." But at least it's a (very) belated step in the right direction. He'll need to take a lot more steps to make up for his slander, though.

I was looking forward to going to CPAC with a couple of friends of mine until I read that GOProud was going to be there and so we never made the plans. Its really sad how difficult it is to be a consrevative and try to congregate without it being ruined.

GoProud is not conservative if it supports republicans like LindsGay Graham and John McLame. I don't know a lot about them but they don't seem to have a lot in common with Tea Party conservatives.

The head of GOProud was in the Log Cabin Republicans. He was dissatisfied and started his own homosexual political group. They are now accepted at CPAC.

Those who are ambivalent about GOProud being embraced by “conservatives” really ought to think twice. GOProud is not simply a group of gays wishing to be left alone to live their lives in a world of smaller government.

If you don’t embrace GOProud’s homosexual agenda and affirm their behavior as normal, natural and healthy, you’re going to be attacked as nasty, intolerant bigots and they have no qualms about using the power of the government to force you into submission and silence you.
