Country crooner Billy Ray Cyrus blames Disney's "Hannah Montana" for his daughter Miley Cyrus' issues, angrily saying "the damn show destroyed my family," the New York Post reported Tuesday.
Blaming publicists and Miley's handlers, Cyrus gives an anguished interview in GQ's March issue, where he adds he wishes "Hannah Montana" never happened.
"I hate to say it, but yes, I do. I'd take it back in a second," said Cyrus, who is divorcing Miley's mother, Tish.
Reflecting on Miley's controversial moments -- including seductive photos on the internet, pole-dancing at the Teen Choice Awards, and posing for Vanity Fair draped in a sheet -- Cyrus said he should have been stricter, and accuses her handlers of going too far to promote her, and then using him as the fall guy.
He tells GQ: "Every time the train went off the track ... her people, or as they say in today's news, her handlers, every time they'd put [the blame on] me ... I took it because I'm her daddy ... OK, nail me to the cross.

And divorcing his wife because she slept with Brett Michaels of all people. With the skanks he has gone through, I’d be worrying about getting checked for STD’s Billy. Miley will be who she will be at this point.
You're her FATHER, dumb-a$$. Why did you even LET her have 'handlers'?
Disney strikes again. Between the Disney non-stop publicity machine and Billy Ray’s ineptitude as a father, the kid was doomed from the start.
Miley is still a minor. As such, her parents are the ones who made or could have made the decisions. “Handlers” don’t have the athority to make decisions on behalf of minors.
So, Billy Ray Joe Bob Jefferson Lee Cyrus, don’t blame the the handlers of a minor.
He is a country star. Didn’t he watch Tanya Tucker, Lee Ann Rimes? Didn’t he see what happened to Lindsey Lohan?
Actually so far he has been lucky.
Many of us resent the downward spiral of Miley, since she roped in our daughters and grandaughters, and we can’t now dissolve their interest in following her “new” career. We are also left holding the bag trying to reel back these kids.
As for Billy. He is immature and morally confused himself.
Miley must have recieved a text from Tiger Woods.

And in Nashville circles, he’s known to be a staunch Democrat. ‘Nuff said.
Disney is a soul-destroyer.
There is a reason teenagers call Disney: “The Disney slut factory”.
Even kids see what it has become.
What few times I’ve seen Billy Ray & Miley in interviews together, I’ve been struck with how condescending, self-important and arrogant her apparent attitude has been toward her daddy. I wondered at the time who had instilled it in her. Sure, she’s a BIG STAR, but Billy Ray was a pretty big star in his own right at one time and he paid for vittles to feed her face when she couldn’t take care of herself.

See, folks? Life is just so much better when you’re too good to give a flying turd about celebrity gossip.
It seems a teenage girl showing up for an audition at a Disney studio has the same future as a runaway girl showing up at the port authority bus station in New York.
That is what I thought when I saw that picture for the first time.
Not good.
