Yes, I finally got my hands on n H&K pistol, the popular P30 in 9mm. I think you'll enjoy seeing this pistol put through the Hickok45 routine of shooting up close and at some distance.

I love my P30. I've had it for nearly 2 years with around 2500 down the pipe. Here's a pic I took the other day.

Insignificant wear after 2500 rounds I'd say. I had my USP out in a heavy rain storm for three days. Upon complete dis-assembly, I couldn't find the slightest hint of any staining or discoloration.

The special "HE" (Hostile Environment) finish employed on major metal parts of the HK USP resists even the worst types of corrosion and wear, including prolonged exposure to salt water.

In a SHTF world, don't leave home without it! ;)

BTW, those look like handloads. I reload and have never had a failure to feed in the H&K USP.

The 52 is butt ugly, Butt it shoots flat way the hell out there!

BTW I put that same hogue hand all on my CZ 52! LoL! covers up that ugly grip panel/clip arrangement and greatly improves ergonomics.

LOL I've never had the pleasure of firing anything in 7.62x25mm but almost everything else up to .50 desert eagle and .454 casull.

I agree it's an excellent value. For a primary handgun in a SHTF world though, I'd prefer something that uses a more common military/police round, (9mm, .40, or .45) and known for exceptional reliability and low maintenance. The more popular and common the gun, the better. This kinda hurts the H&K because there aren't that many out there due to cost, but they are very reliable and low maintenance.

All I recommend the CZ 52 for is varmint control and plinking.

Its like a little 223 in your pocket!

Excellent choice! I prefer the big fat .45 but you can't go wrong with a 9mm either.

Probably the most trusted and popular handgun (besides the 1911) is the 9mm Glock 17:

I've never had anything but a failure to lock the slide back on the last round on my P30. No other issues at all. It also only happened on S&B ammo, so I'm blaming the ammo.

The ammo in the mag Federal Hydroshok 124gr. I don't handload where I live now due to space limitations. I have reloaded in the past.

I have a CZ-52 as well.

I've had some issues with it then the firing pin broke. It was one of those "unbreakable" firing pins, not a factory pin. I replaced the firing pin with a Harrington CZ-52-2 competition firing pin. I had to mill out the pivot on the extractor so it wouldn't engage the return spring(can be done with a file). I highly recommend everyone do this to their 52s. The trigger goes to around 3 lbs, gets smoother and break much nicer. It "breaks" the decocker, making it a second trigger but who cares, that happens to these 52s anyway when they wear.

I love the 45 for regular defense.

I like the 40 because if it was ever a situation were you had to stop a guy at a distance, such as the tucson ahole, it would shoot flat

Serious party favor that.

I just can’t bring myself to get a CZ52... they’re so butt ugly IMO.

Now a C96 “broomhandle” Mauser in .30 Luger.... hmmmmm.

Have you shot a .38 Super? That’s another great cartridge.

Supers are pretty common here, as they were legal for a long time in Mexico. There’s a Cor Bon loading that just about duplicates the performance of the .357 125 grain which is a good stopper. Put it in a Lightweight commander (27 ounces) and you essentially have a 10+1 .357 that kicks like a 9mm.
