"My toe is no longer in the water, it's all the way up to my neck," Cain said. "I think I have a great chance of not only winning the nomination but the Presidency."
That was the message in a conference call with the potential GOP presidential candidate Monday night, telling bloggers things are going really well as he continues his work with his presidential exploratory committee.
Just weeks ago, Cain won the straw poll at the tea party American Policy Summit in Phoenix, easily beating big names like Ron Paul, Sarah Palin, Tim Pawlenty and Mitt Romney. However, Cain has been popular with the tea party since it's beginning and gave his first speech to the grassroots movement on April 15, 2009.
Cain said in the call that the grassroots support for his exploratory committee has been unbelievable and continues to grow with thousands of volunteers wanting to help promote his small government, fiscally conservative message to voters.

Herman Cain is a NATURAL BORN CITIZEN unlike Comrade Barry.
A lot of postal negativity.
The more I see Cain’s aspirational rhetoric, the more I like the guy. Furthermore, to the Conservative purest, a man such as Cain should not run if he has no chance — I disagree. Identity is in fact a factor, and if his primary debut can draw folks off the plantation, then it’s a double win should he also make it to the Presidency.
Cain's resume is superior to Keyes who stayed in the primary races regardless of defeats. Keyes' captivating rhetoric was quite the teaching device.

If we let the MSM determine our candidate we will end up with another RINO. That's what happened in 2008. We need candidates the MSM hates.
We can’t vote for him. He’s black, and we’re all racists./sarc
I would vote for Cain absolutely.
How about Barry Soetoro
“I think I have a great chance of not only winning the nomination but the Presidency.”
Sounds like he is trying to convince himself. He needs to be more forthright and say I am President of the United States starting 2013.
Great let’s run a guy with zero government experience to win the Presidency, maybe he can learn on the job, you never know. I like Herman, but I want someone with executive experience to be the next POTUS. Although, he is number 3 on my list for now behind Bachman, but Palin is my still my number 1.
I like Herman Cain....but what about foreign policy experience?
Perhaps a ticket of Cain and Bolton?
The Global foreign bankers who rule the Fed don't offer those jobs to Patriots. They offer those jobs to Strobe Talbot, Vernon Jordan types who are into money & power and membership in the Elite Club.
That's a big part of his appeal. As a successful executive, he knows how to hire good people, delegate and hold people responsible for results. Bush often failed on the last count and Obama is a complete joke on all three counts.
He’s welcome to run. A field of conservative candidates needs to be fostered and supported to promote a true healthy choice for Americans. Herman Cain will contribute a great deal to the overall debate on the direction of this country come 2012. I hope he can forge some place in directing it’s future.
Like George Washington...
"I think I have a great chance of not only winning the nomination but the Presidency."
A man with delusions.
That doesn't bother me so much (though historically, of course, the only people to ever be President with no prior government experience were war-hero generals).
My biggest concern regarding Cain is he has an electoral track record, and it's bad. Worse than Alan Keyes, because Keyes at least made it to the general election a couple of times while Cain couldn't win a GOP Senate primary.
IF (and that's a huge "if") Cain manages to win the GOP nomination, he'll likely beat Obama. But that's true for just anyone the GOP can put out there (Romney excepted, as his negatives cover for Obama's). But Cain isn't going to win the GOP primary by any reasonable stretch of the imagination as things stand right now.
No one whose name is so akin to "John McCain" will be elected president.
No one, including me, knows what Herman Cain even looks like. I couldn't pick his face out of a two-mug photo line-up if you gave me a million dollars on the spot.
Are the Herman Cain promoters re-incarnated Duncan Hunter promoters looking for a different result this time around?
That being said, nothing wrong if Herman throws his hat into the ring as he appears to be a guy who can keep more liberal candidates' feet to the fire during a campaign.
To me, Cain may be the greatest presidential material in the universe, but touting this virtual unknown as a serious contender at this late date is just a sign of desperation....a feeling I share, BTW, given the current crop of wannabes.

I understand that it’s a good point and I like Herman Cain, he would be excellent in a cabinet position and with enough legislative experience he would make an excellent POTUS. I just don’t think he’s there yet, I would vote for Herman if he was the nominee, I have no problem with that he’s a true conservative and way better than Bush or Obama.
