Police have warned that a missing 16-year-old girl from Illinois who ran away from home to avoid an arranged marriage could become the victim of an ‘honour killing’. Zaineb Chaudhary has not been seen since March 11 when she attended classes at school in Skokie, Illinois. According to police, Zaineb’s father had visited his native Pakistan in October to arrange a marriage for his daughter. He has stated that he was there, looking for marriage arrangement for his daughter,’ Tammy Jacobsen of the Skokie Police Department told local station Fox Chicago. Police are now warning that the girl’s disappearance could be viewed as a ‘disgrace’ by her family and say that they want to protect her from any possible ‘honour crime’

A few weeks ago, a young woman was allegedly raped in a restroom. The fact that she was treated like a criminal when she went to the police and that women in the Middle East are scared to report such crimes is the real moral outrage.

I won’t get too worked up over this article being written, it was in a UK paper and I would bet a LOT of money it will NEVER see the light of day in any major US paper
The news says that she may have run off with a 39 year old man she met on the internet.
However in the last case we saw the family said the same but it turned out that she had fled to hide at her uncle’s home.
Really?? To me it sounds like Jacobsen, the dunce, just can’t come out and say the girl may already *be* the victim of a honor killing.
