U.S. slapped by S&P – Will Conservatives learn and fight?
National Republican Trust PAC ^ | 04/21/2011 | Scott Wheeler

For the first time in history, Standard & Poor’s hit the American economy with a major warning, changing their view of our prospects from stable to negative.

The top ratings agency put the United States on notice yesterday that it could lose its AAA rating if it does not act quickly to pare down our deficits and total national debt.

If we as a country refuse to immediately address the federal spending spree we will be responsible for a catastrophic collapse of our economy. That is why the GOP Trust has launched a national ad campaign to STOP CONGRESS FROM RAISING THE DEBT CEILING!

Spending cuts will never be taken seriously until Congress stops voting to increase the limit on the national credit card. The Debt Ceiling vote is our best opportunity to finally start the fiscal restoration of our country.

Please GO HERE NOW and help us get these important ads on the air.

We are finishing up the production stage right now

and with your help will be on the air later this week.

The U.S. will not lose its AAA rating if our leaders in Washington make the tough decisions needed to tackle the out of control federal spending binge. If our leaders continue to kick the can down the road we will pay the price severely.

If we lose our AAA rating it is likely that we will not even be able to pay the interest on our massive debt once our rates are readjusted. We will find ourselves in a debt trap of which there is no escape.

We must act now!

Conservatives have already learned and are fighting. Republicans, on the other hand...

The Republicans had better begin looking at how future generations are going to view them and whether they are willing to fight for liberty and against certain slavery for their posterity!

They can distinguish themselves, just as did the brave Founders of this nation, if they recognize the danger of debt and deficit and resist compromise.

These Democrats who call themselves "progressives" are anything but progressive! Their policies come out of the same mindset which has kept mankind enslaved for most of recorded history!!! They are regressive in their thinking and in their policies, and if they're allowed to continue in office, America will join all the other nations who have subscribed to such villainous ideologies.

Are there examples in American history where the general welfare of the society benefitted by applying the principles of so-called "government" control?

A reading of Governor Bradford's diary of the experience of the Jamestown Colony might be instructive here.

America's Founders preferred liberty for individuals, and their principles made America a desired destination for millions for over 200 years.

"To preserve [the] independence [of the people,] we must not let our rulers load us with perpetual debt. We must make our election between economy and liberty, or profusion and servitude. If we run into such debts as that we must be taxed in our meat and in our drink, in our necessaries and our comforts, in our labors and our amusements, for our callings and our creeds, as the people of England are, our people, like them, must come to labor sixteen hours in the twenty-four, give the earnings of fifteen of these to the government for their debts and daily expenses, and the sixteenth being insufficient to afford us bread, we must live, as they now do, on oatmeal and potatoes, have no time to think, no means of calling the mismanagers to account, but be glad to obtain subsistence by hiring ourselves to rivet their chains on the necks of our fellow-sufferers." --Thomas Jefferson to Samuel Kercheval, 1816. ME 15:39

"Were we directed from Washington when to sow and when to reap, we should soon want bread." --Thomas Jefferson: Autobiography, 1821. ME 1:122

"I deem [this one of] the essential principles of our government and consequently [one] which ought to shape its administration:... The honest payment of our debts and sacred preservation of the public faith." --Thomas Jefferson: 1st Inaugural, 1801. ME 3:322

"I sincerely believe... that the principle of spending money to be paid by posterity under the name of funding is but swindling futurity on a large scale." --Thomas Jefferson to John Taylor, 1816. ME 15:23

"[With the decline of society] begins, indeed, the bellum omnium in omnia [war of all against all], which some philosophers observing to be so general in this world, have mistaken it for the natural, instead of the abusive state of man. And the fore horse of this frightful team is public debt. Taxation follows that, and in its train wretchedness and oppression." --Thomas Jefferson to Samuel Kercheval, 1816. ME 15:40

Put the "redistribute-the-wealth" philosophy of Obama up against the philosophy of individual, Creator-endowed liberty expressed by Jefferson, and then talk about who's "radical" or "extreme."

No new taxes until real and deep spending cuts are in place for one full year.

Judging the recent actions of the House leadership and their spin surrounding the faux budget cut, they will raise the debt ceiling on a clean vote.

If they (Republicans) continue in this mode of Beck's Everything is fine., Boehner and company will welcome Obama to another four years.

This is what CAPITULATION looks like...

When Republicans cave, the message is sent loud and clear. We don’t have infinite time to get our financial ship on the right track.

Will Conservatives learn and fight?

No. They'll bitch and moan. They'll vote for more Republicans and then scratch their heads wondering why the country continues to slide into a Third World pit.

From what I have observed Conservatives don’t need to learn how to fight the liberals. The Republicans do.They’re scared of their own shadows for the most part.
