You can get the PDF from the White House here. Now why would it have layers like this? Isn't that at least a little strange? Did someone forget to "merge layers," which would indicate that this is computer generated image? Or is this nothing?

What is this supposed to be? What is with the curled page set on top of another page. That is clearly what was done. Yet all the green security paper pattern lines up? This doesn't even make sense.

How is it that the birth certificate curls into the page? And there is a stamp and signature at the bottom. What? What did Alvan T. Onaka actually sign?

This thing is such a crock it is disorienting in trying to describe it because it is so preposterous.

Also, right click and look at document properties. The pdf file was created at 12:09PM today. Not sure what that means.

The only thing I can come up with, assuming this is real, is that someone in Hawaii scanned the original, then photoshopped it onto a bigger piece of green security paper makin sure the pattern lined up, printed that creation, stamped it and had Onaka sign it, scanned that piece of paper and email the scanned image to the White House. That is the only way I can imagine the document provided could be created.

I’m a graphic artist and a scanned in image is a single, flat image.

Layers indicate something was pieced together.

I really, REALLY want someone to give me a reason why this is not the case here... or that there’s a legitimate explanation.

Why is the K in “Kansas” raised above all the other letters?

Could it be that both “Kansas” and “Kenya” begin with the letter K?

Not only that, but the third letter in both “Kansas” and “Kenya” are both N and the fifth letter in both is the letter A.

All of which would make it much easier to convert a Kenyan BC.

This reminds me of when Al-Qaeda was releasing videos and experts started recognizing the rocks behind them in the video and then the terrorists started using a blanket to hide the rocks behind them.

It could be that an expert could prove what machine this was scanned with so they hid any tell tale marks by using an extra sheet of paper.

Otherwise we may of learned it was scanned in Chicago.

This creates WAY MORE questions than it answers. I still maintain that the problem is that there was noting "shocking" in this release which was the big mistake and points to its fraudulence. Why spend millions of dollars hiding it? If it has said his fathers race was "negro" it might have been something to hide, but it's not, so why the millions to hide it?

Also, due to the listing of his fathers nationality and the age of his mom at birth, doesn't that show he is not a NBC?

Just opened it myself in Illustrator and you’re right — it’s layered, and goofily, at that.

I don’t know what it means, but this is definitely “doctored.”

I see no official stamp, but if someone has enough money, wouldn’t it be possible to make a forgery. I just don’t know something just doesn’t seem right here.

Can somebody explain this to me. In January 2011, Hawaiian Governor Abercrombie, a strong Obama supporter, said he was going to release the long form birth certificate and then said he had searched for it and couldn't find it. Now the document is released and it supposedly was there all the time. This doesn't make sense to me.

Lets assume for a second that the document is genuine - (it has provenance, and as far as a scanned image it looks very much like the Nordyke image to me, with the exception of “Oahu” being listed as State in the middle-left of the Nordyke document where Obama’s says “Hawaii.”

But all these details aside - This document shows that Obama is NOT a natural born citizen based on the definition in use at the time of the writing of the Constitution. Natural born at the time meant born on US soil to TWO citizen parents.

The only catch is if the 14th amendment eliminated all grades of citizenship upon ratification, effectively removing the natural born citizen requirement of the presidency. (Which it would have had to do expressly, not through implication - I think.)

In boxes 5a & 5b, it looks like the month and day (August 4) were typed at one time, and the year and time (1961 7:24) were typed at a different time. "August 4" is slightly higher than "1961 7:24".

I would think that all of this would've been typed at the same time.

It’s nothing. The software used to create the PDF (Mac OSX 10.6.7 Quartz PDFContext) has been known to create layers during automatic processing, especially if someone tried to turn OCR on.

If this is the real BC then why was there such a problem in releasing it years ago? If the document is in fact layered then it is without question doctored.

I downloaded the file from the White House site. I opened it in two different non-adobe graphics programs on windows and it had no extra layers.

Adobe products are complicated and weird (and good.) But they handle files in their own way and probably themselves are responsible for any extraneous layers introduced into the file.
