I’d say it was even longer than 30 years ago that SNL was funny. In 1981, they did one of those cast replacements that resulted in painfully bad routines. They also had a bunch of obvious and flat-out partisan attacks on Reagan that weren’t remotely funny unless you were a Lib zealot.

That particular clip, definitely. But most of my SNL viewing was during the mid-to-late ‘80s and early ‘90s, which I found quite entertaining.
