I loved listening to Boudreau when he was a radio color man on WGN doing Cubs games. Sometimes he’d do the middle three innings on TV, too. He’d always see a good fundamental play and say “All you young players out there pay attention...” and then he’d describe why the player made a good play. I was waiting for a batter to charge the mound after a beaning and get in a fight with the pitcher, just to hear Lou say “All you young players out there, look how the batter led with his left and then hammered him with the right...that’s how you win a brawl.”
