The REAL Differences Between Coke And Pepsi People
Business Insider ^ | 13 May 2011 | Alana Horowitz

You probably can't describe the difference between Coke and Pepsi. Perhaps one cola seems sweeter, but you couldn't certainly distinguish them in a taste test. Yet you know without a doubt which one you like more.

The fierce brand loyalties of Coke vs. Pepsi are a marvel of American marketing.

Slightly older, Coca-Cola was always the dominant brand.

Pepsi gained market share in the middle of the century with a series of ad campaigns. In 1975 the first Pepsi Challenge claimed that people preferred Pepsi in a blind taste test. The brand was also marketed as the soda of the new generation, with celebrity spokespeople like Michael Jackson.

Today America's preference is firmly divided by demographics, according to research by Hunch.com. Surprisingly there's a big divide based on wealth and education.

Here's one:

Coke drinkers have big penises!

Pepsi drinkers are big pricks!

Can and have. My college boy friend’s room mate made a bet I couldn’t tell crap scotch from Chivas Regal. He lost. Of course now I consider Chivas crap. LOL.

Ok fine, but what about us Dr. Pepper people, where do we fit on the spectrum?

Part of the constipated hoi polloi.

Dr Pepper was originally carbonated prune juice. You drank it at 10, 2, and 4 presumably to keep regular.

So the coke drinker wrote an insipid article to compensate for being a smug little jerk among other dysfunctions. Banal attempts to feel superior are so sad.

1. Any individual who cannot taste the difference between Coke and Pepsi should be sentenced to be fed via suppository for the rest of their natural life.

2. Any individual who can’t feel the difference between cane sugar and corn syrup should be sentenced to be fed via suppository for the rest of their natural life.

3. When I was a kid, my favorite part of trips to Dixie was Mr. Pibb.

4. Dr. Pepper. Coke occasionally. Coke has a broader flavor, Pepsi is like needles.

Now, now, that’s not quite true.

I’m not a Papsi fan, and the problem with Pepsi is the use if pepsin as a flavoring agent.

See Pepsodent toothpaste and Beeman’s chewing gum.

Either you like the flavor of pepsin or you don’t. I don’t care for it and can’t get past it in Pepsi.

I’ve worked for both companies. Pepsi spent all their time focusing on hiring minorities and slamming southerners. They paid people in the South less than those in the North, too.

In one meeting they had two of my co-workers stand up. They pointed out they had been hired in the last year, and they were AFRICAN AMERICAN and WOMEN. Everyone was expected to applaud.

After the meeting, they came to my office just furious. They said they thought they were hired for their talents, not for their skin color and genitalia. They were talking about resigning, but I don’t think they did.

They did offer some good benefits, though. But I like working for Coke much better.

Pepsi drinkers ARE more likely to be terrorists.

Coke was blacklisted in Saudi Arabia and several other Arab nations until the 1990s. One could only buy Pepsi until then, and I’m pretty sure that Pepsi still has a larger market share in the Middle East.

Alana Horowitz is obviously a Coke drinker. Probably a Coke snorter as well, as she must have done right before writing this snobby screed.

Hear that you guys who drink Coke? You read the NY Slimes, and Alana Horowitz has the proof!

Easy.

Where ever did you find that gross looking thing? :)

I'm sure Gene Simmons found the gross looking thing at the local Seven Eleven. :)
