puts on flame suit..
She resigned so that Alaska's business could be taken care of without being burdened by the frivolous ethics complaints circus. (Not a single complain was upheld.)
So, how exactly did her resignation hurt Alaska?
Appears to me that she had the best interest of her state at heart, rather than her own political fortunes.
Can you see Zero resigning for the good of the country?
Look: We are at war with the marxists in this country. They are not entirely incompetent. In fact, they are mostly in power right now. They are mostly in power in Alaska right now, and were when Sarah was Governor.
They set up a no-win situation using ridiculous "ethics" laws that would have bankrupted Sarah and made the remainder of her term unmanagable and useless. So they won. She was FORCED to run away to live and fight another day. It happens. A forced retreat sucks but is a legitimate battle technique. She certainly lost that battle and incurred damage. But she LIVED to fight another day and that day is coming now.
If you can't understand this, and can't vote for a conservative that chose to LIVE rather than fall on their sword at the enemies feet, and therefore put a MARXIST into office again, then there is no hope for you and, frankly, I question why you are even on this forum.
You do realize that she was being inundated with frivolous lawsuits, brought by a cabal of out of state leftists who understood that the Alaska Governor's office isn't protected by the state AG?
Her family was being bankrupted to the tune of over half a million dollars (and climbing) in legal bills by these frivolous lawsuits, all of which were thrown out, one by one.
In addition to being thrown into bankruptcy, she and her staff couldn't do the job of governing the state, for all the time and attention these lawsuits consumed.
What was she to do? Fall on her sword and submit to being personally destroyed by these monsters, or do you think she may have outsmarted them by stepping out of the Governor's office for the good of the Alaskan people, and to put herself in a position where she could fight back?
So you are voting for Obama over Palin? I would think that would end your membership at FR?
/agree
No flame suit needed, just a reminder that she stated a valid reason for the resignation; the distractions of the harassing lawsuits and constant attacks would have impacted on her ability to give the best service to the people of Alaska. As it was, she did more for Alaska in 2 1/2 years than most governors do in multiple terms!
