Miss Elizabeth died in 2003 of a drug overdose. That article makes it sound like she was in the car with her ex husband.
The article says that she died in 2003 and that his current wife named Barbara was with him.

The Macho Man played minor league baseball for the Cardinals organization in the early 70s.
Apparently he was quite a personality at that time too. He was a catcher at one point and he used to like to talk to the batters while they were in the box with “colorful” language.
