Professor Quix, You have taught me to think outside my box during the past 10 years on FR and I am eternally grateful.

What percentage of those not predisposed to my cosmology, perspective . . . really ‘get’ Quix—mostives, priorities, goals, even personality vs what percentage REALLY do NOT? I know you are bright and spiritually sensitive. And that certainly contributes.

But I’m skeptical that the intellectual brightness or even the spiritual sensitivity is what makes it so easy for you to understand me. I think it’s that you’ve been through so many excruciating long dark nights of the soul and had so many phoney self-protective layers stripped away—stripping you down to the essentials of personhood loving God and being loved of God—making it so much easier for you to love others without affectations, artifice etc. ???

Thank you so much for your encouragements, dear brother in Christ!

But truly, whereas I strongly relate to your experiences, I understand you simply because you love God.

But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. - 1 John 1:7

On the struggles of mortal life, I have learned that I cannot value the world around me because if I do, God will let me and I will sink.

And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water. And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus. But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me. And immediately Jesus stretched forth [his] hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt? - Matt 14:28-31

God's Name is I AM.

Wow, Alamo-Girl God answered my question I was going to ask you before I could ask it.

I, being an engineer, am always looking for practical formulas from Scriptures to live by. Then I remember Gods ways are not our ways. Now maybe, not definitely, is this one way God might teach me something? Remember my money idol problem God is working on, BTW cash flow is fine right now so I am joyful. The more I worry about money the less God will give me to teach me to trust in him instead of money? So the key is don't worry about money be content with whatever God provides trust and keep your eyes on Jesus instead.

Yes God did already answer my question with your post.

And yet, my fellow fanatic, as I was there in those years, too... Think back on how it was 3 years before President Reagan. Those horrible Carter years.

They HAD to lead us to the Reagan years. Like a phoenix, look what rose out of the ashes of 1970’s democratic-led national malaise.

It could happen again. It should! It better. And I think it will. It is a cycle. Every generation must come to see the Truth, and the Truth shall set you free.

Alas Babylon you do have a common point of view. Normalcy bias.

Quix, If they have faith in Our Lord Jesus Christ is nomalcy bias a problem?

Well put, as usual.

I’ve learned to not anticipate where your responses will go.

And that’s part of the fun of them. LUB.

A cycle is different

from a spiral down to chaos and anarchy.

. . . particularly an anarchy on one end and a fierce tyranny on the other—both designed and engineered in hell.

The Message version of Scripture translates the term for

ANTI-CHRIST as ANARCHIST.

Interesting.

They are deliberately creating chaos out of which to implement their more horrific tyranny . . . destroying the middle class in the process.

Normalcy bias is like a

. . . huge weighty fly-wheel

or . . . ball and chain . . .

holding one to a given set of constructions on reality—usually some sort of presumed average held by a majority of the culture to be true, real.

Christians can miss hearing God because of the normalcy biases of the nonChristian general culture.

AND

Christians can miss hearing God because of the particular pet hobby horses of their denomination or even of their congregation or even of their family of origin.

God used to take the prophets of old out on the back side of the desert for 3-40 years of training to burn all that STUFF that had collected, calcified, fossilized within them about what was true and what wasn’t.

THEN

they could hear HIM more purely.

HIS WAYS ARE NOT OUR WAYS.

Yet, we compulsively tend to construct God in our minds in our image (usually saturated from the normalcy bias view) vs taking ourselves daily to the Cross to insure that He constructs us in the image of His Son.

Older people particularly tend to loathe change. We like things stable and predictable and comfortable. Yet, the most growth tends to come from discomfort.

Therefore, we are usually resistent to having the normalcy bias challenged. Worse, to see it crash and burn can cause even strong stable people to feel shattered and wonder who they are, where they are, what they are and what is going on in the world.

I think that Christians are wise to cling fiercely to JESUS . . . CHRIST ALONE—THE HOPE OF GLORY. LET HIM MOLD US INTO HIS IMAGE. REGARDLESS.

Nothing else is worth anything.

In this era, before too many more days, weeks or months . . .

NORMALCY IS GOING TO BE CRASHED AND BURNED WHOLESALE.

NORMAL will be hard to find.

Men’s hearts will be failing from fear.

We need to keep in mind. Christians are strangers in a strange land.

We were created for Heaven and a redeemed multiverse.

THIS world is not normal for us. It just seems that way because it’s all we’ve ever consciously known.

We must be willing and ready to jump out of the boat and walk on the water when HE SAYS “COME!” . . . and not look back and not look down . . . fixing our gaze on Him.

REGARDLESS.

HE MUST BECOME OUR STANDARD OF NORMAL.

And, normally, there’s little mortally normal about HIM!

I know. Things have to get so horrid that our Lord said, “And unless those days had been shortened, no flesh should be saved: but for the sake of the elect those days shall be shortened.”

That sounds far worse than democrats in office, but since Obama sometimes I wonder....

In terms of the white-hanky stuff . . . that ilk of thing is MORE THAN WARRANTED given the stimuli the RC’s et al throw at proddys routinely around here.

As an RC I've gone on to ask God's forgiveness of that attitude. Will you forgive me? I won't leave my Church, but I accept all FReeper Christians as my Brothers and Sisters in Christ. Time is short. I really feel the "season" is here; begun. We must hang together. The Enemy is in the camp.

I strongly agree, Brother.

I have no ill will nor ill feelings toward any RC nor any other FREEPER.

My pointed posts are agains deceptions of the enemy.

If an individual RC believes they are in Right standing with God and my posts are inaccurate in describing them—and they’ve asked God about it and listened to God’s response—then I have no need to say anything else but cheer them on in their earnest authentic walk with God.

You are certainly forgiven. I had no awareness of anything between us at all. I try and insure I’m forgiven up 24/7.

Please forgive me for any unfitting anything from me to you.

Certainly the enemy is encroaching incrementally horrifically.

No, there is nothing to forgive. I find much of the arguing to be annoying, but this is, after all, a Free Republic. You need no forgiving from me, nor anyone else here.

I watch how well you and Mad Dawg get along, and I am blessed to see it!

Yup. It's a very good thing, from a very good Father. Thanks for asking, Dr. Quix!

“If Dr Quix could give you any intangible out of his person into you, what 3 things would you want from him?”

  1. Honesty.
  2. Sincerity.
  3. Open-heartedness.

But to tell you the truth, I think I already have these (;

THANKS for your kind words. I feel the same affections etc. toward you.

I just like to forgive everyone routinely—particularly who asks for it—whether I think it’s needed, or not.

Yeah, Mad Dawg is a dear heart in spite of both of us. LOL.

I believe the friendship I have with you is from the Lord. Why? Because He has used you to help me get past toxic emotions that have plagued me my whole life. As for “getting” you ... well, here goes:

Quix-Motives, priorities, and goals, you have a pure heart and care about the well-being of others as well as about honoring the Lord.

Relating to you as one who has been through “Long Dark Nights of the Soul”, yep, I have had more than one “broken world” experience and I do agree those things forever change a person as well as change how such person relates to others forevermore, so, we have that in common.

As for having had many phoney self-protective layers stripped away — down to essentials of personhood loving God and being loved of God — making it so much easier to love others without affectations, artifice, I am getting there in some areas and I do acknowledge that you are less than one percent phoney and less than two percent self-protective, I try to follow your example in that.

You mention wood, hay, and stubble, well, so much of what we do will have less substance than a wisp of a breeze and some will be disqualified because when we get to eternity it won’t be acceptable to the Lord, much to our chagrin, and to the great extent that you treat all human effort as such, yes, I relate to you.

I would love to say I’m not a control freak, but, alas, it is an area of struggle for me, and yet, you show your great courage by being willing to tangle with me when it rears its ugly head, kudos to you brave man that you are; as a little child, I relate to you BECAUSE of this not in spite of it.

Since I do not perceive you as a threat, I do not view you as one who must be squelched.

As I said a couple weeks back, I think we each will find our stepping off point sooner rather than later, when we “kiss the American Dream goodbye” and get serious about eternity being manifested in the here and now — for some this will be a heart-choice / for others it will be a necessity as things get more difficult and End Times events strip us down to bare bones.

ALSO, we each have a point where we will

really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really

CHOOSE THIS DAY WHOM {WE} WILL SERVE

and to quote Keith Green will ‘pledge my head to Heaven for the Gospel’ by refusing to take the mark of the beast and most certainly refusing to worship his image, and how much that awareness is with me affects my relating to all serious Christians, including you, O Brother in the Lord.

That stepping off point will be where some who have in the past rejected you and who you are and what you say and how you say it will finally GET you.

Like the one freeper, sorry, I am not remembering his name, said, when the UFOs give him a ride the first thing he will ask them is to drive by Quix’s house so he can apologizing for laughing at you. Or some such.

That’s how it will be for many who aren’t real fond of you (yet).

And you yourself have told of times when folks have looked you up years later and have told you the no holds barred comments you had made way back when had haunted them and eventually they’d realized you were right all along.

SO, it ain’t over till the fat lady sings, and when she does, there’ll be even more pro-Quix opinions than there are now.

Of course, you are living mostly for Jesus’ opinion anyway and that too will be more obvious later than now.

I concur that you would do all you do to turn just one lurker to Truth but I suspect when it’s all said and done there will be a startling number of folks who found their way to having a place with those who by faith have a place in Heaven due to your efforts on Free Republic. The same could be said of your efforts elsewhere as well.

I myself am an eyewitness to how your students react to you when you bump in to them out in public; inevitably, they get tears in their eyes and are exceedingly glad to see you and you are equally happy to see them, I find this remarkable and see it as a real-time validation of your effect on folks.

Thanks for being who you are. Thanks for your decade of service hereon.

Your friend and FRiend,
Joya
