Has anyone ever remarked to you that Helen’s face resembles that “face” on Mars that so many speculate about?
Could it be that ancient Martians worshipped an alien being named Helen who visited their planet and tried to lure her back by sculpting a likeness a la the cargo cult syndrome?
Actually, the site shows up pretty well in Google Earth. LOTS of similar sites up and down the Nile, and elsewhere for that matter, that look to be old settlements, cities, whatever. No IR necessary. Just takes a lot of time at fairly low altitudes to run 'em down.
Nice hotel. We stayed there a couple of times.
Hubby and I love Las Vegas, mainly because we don’t gamble, LOL!
“With a pyramid, there are four sides to every storey.”
“...and none of them baseless.”
And the point is....?
I love Las Vegas because it is a wonderfully brilliant light show at night from where I live. When I walk in the early mornings, it is gorgeous!
Having hot summers is an added bonus.
That sounds really neat.
As SunkenCiv already observed, in #10 above, the point is the sharp thing at the top.
Please, don't turn this into an Abbot & Costello routine; we've already covered all four bases sides. What we need now is a pitcher picture...
...so here's a pyramid with a pancake on its head.
Folded crepe, actually.
LOL! Thanks!
;’)
And the buffets are great I’ve heard. Top level stuff — a round trip flight from here to Los Angeles is horrifically expensive, but an entire week’s stay (including the flight to and from) for Las Vegas is much less, soooo, book the LV trip, fly there, and the family one wishes to visit from LA drives up to pick ya up.
This made far more sense when gasoline prices were reasonable.
However, a Vegas-LA bus trip is reasonably priced, and somewhat cheaper each direction if a round trip.
Or, if it’s a romantic tryst, the midwesterner flies to Vegas with the trip all booked, the hotel, the works, and the Lalaland love interest drives up and stays there instead.
Yes, as a matter of fact, we are extremely careful with money around here. ;’)
This explains why archaeologists have found chips by the thousands every sift of the excavated sands.
The buffets are very nice, and since we do a lot of walking around and gawking, we work off the food quite well.
I love to go when we haven't been there for a while because there are new hotels to see and places to explore.
I don't understand about the family visit vs. the tryst, but I'll just gloss over that if you don't mind. (I thought you were happily married!)
If you're a Liberal, trysts are how one strays happily "married".
If you're a Conservative, then leaving the kids at home, and taking the spousal unit on a "tryst" keeps one happily married.
I’m not married, but the scenarios I offered were hypothetical but based on actual experiences of people I know. :’)
...but we can fix that!
I could recommend a shadchen or three---and none of them yentas.
Just send a copy of your vitals, your financials, three current photographs, a valid ID & Social....
