Officers in Independence, a Kansas City suburb, responded to a call on a Saturday evening about a large alligator lurking on the embankment of a pond, police spokesman Tom Gentry said Thursday.
An officer called a state conservation agent, who advised him to shoot the alligator because there was little that conservation officials could do at that time, Gentry said.

Must have been mistaken for a dog.
I wonder how many rounds they fired. 1,200? 2,000?

As instructed an officer shot the alligator, not once but twice, but both times the bullets bounced off -- because the alligator was made of cement. BWAAAAAhahahahaha!

So uninvited trespassers spot it, call the police and the police trespass uninvited and destroy it.
I guess there is no such thing as private property any more.

What you need is a large black dog statue ~ concrete of course ~ and one of those Sound emitting diode devices.
Cops step on your porch it activates the diode making barking and snarling noises.
This will force the cops to shoot the concrete dog before entering on their no knock warrant and that will give you time to flush your secret Conservative Plans To Take Over The World down the toilet.

I love the quote from the article... “in hindsight, it’s humorous but we have to take every call seriously”. I guess next week they will shoot the Loch Ness Monster.
