If Detroit has an image of a crumbling city, it doesn't help to have one of its representatives in the U.S. Congress let his home look unkempt. Charlie LeDuff pays a visit to John Conyers house.

I love it when the “adult” son in his underwear at 5PM tells him the yard is mowed and that there is a no trespassing sign. The reporter says, he can’t see the sign because the fence it is posted on is bent.

When Jack Kemp was our congressman he was SUPPOSED to live in Western NY ..,.instead his REAL home was in Cal. ...and then there was that home in Washington.. what he had here as his “official” residence was a lousy looking double home .
Same is probable true on many members of Congress including Conyers.. once they make the BIG TIME they do not want to live in their humble district.. they are too good for the people that elected them
