Rude, oblivious, fat, dumb, uninformed, uneducated, uninterested, etc.

Its a disgrace going to any large gathering of people and looking around, especially the men.

Truly a disgrace to see weak, fat, dumb, men in flip flops, skinny jeans, etc.

>>I too find myself falling into that trap and to be honest,<<

I’m having that problem to some degree and I use this analogy to clarify how I “feel”: In the movie “The Twelve Monkeys”, I am the Bruce Willis character in the “pre-collapse” world. I see everything around me as “about to end”. Anything I can pull from it to use to build up my farm in Kentucky, I will. It will just go unused here in Seattle as everything is destroyed by people as this thing goes down.

If you could go back in time and steal the money out of a person’s wallet just before the plane they are in crashes and burns, are you really stealing? Come to think of it, there was a movie and book about that.

"People parking in Handicapped spots that walk completely fine and then pull down the placard as they drive away. Ignoran"

I am one of these people. I'm sure that like you, everyone who sees me thinks the same awful things about me, that you think about the people you see.

You can't see my problem. You can't tell why I need to park in the handicap parking spot. I have no crutches, no wheelchair, no limp, no visible disabilities. The only thing I do have is asthma, emphysema and I lost 1/4 of my left lung to lung cancer March 9, 2006. I can barely breath well enough to get from my car to the stores little go cart to drive around and get my groceries.

I'm sure people think poorly of me for using the the little go carts too. Because like I said before, you can't see my problem.

And as for removing the placard when you drive away. I was told by our Dept of BMV when my handicap placard was issued to me, that it had to be removed when my vehicle is in motion.

Everyone who looks down on people like me just because you can't see our problems, should check their homes for radon gas, or they may end up like me, or worse, like my ex husband who died Feb 7, 2006 of lung cancer.

>>I think we need to move out to the country.<<

We bought a farm in central Kentucky two weeks before Urkel was elected. We moved most of our stuff out there last year. We’re driving one of our cars out there this weekend stuffed with most of the rest of our stuff. If the interview goes well, we’ll drive the other car out in a few weeks. I’ve already listed and sold a lot on CL. The closer the date comes, the lower the price to get rid of it.

We’re also working on putting up a sheet metal building in the 2500 sq. ft. range to use as a tool. We can even move our kids out there to live when TSHTF, assuming they can get there.

They are not for office our dress policy does not allow it yet the manager does not follow the dress code and enforce the law. I love shoes and dressing so I think flip flops are for hanging at home and for weekends food shopping.

“People parking in Handicapped spots that walk completely fine and then pull down the placard as they drive away.”

I have a relative with leukemia (AML). He has a disabled placard.

You might think he’s fine to look at him. He doesn’t limp. He isn’t in a wheelchair.

He is however exhausted and very short of breath. It’s a legitimate use of the placard.

Also, anyone driving him anywhere can use the placard. They’ll pop out healthy as can be. They are driving him; so don’t always judge by the driver.

I am against the abuse of Disabled placards but a person doesn’t need to be in a wheelchair to legitimately use them.

They also keep him free at parking meters, which is very helpful because he can’t hurry and get things done. He must take lots of breaks.

>>I want to vomit at all the disgusting fat slobs all over the place. Its embarassing as a nation how slovenly and obese we are.<<

You’re preaching to the choir. My wife actually thinks I’m too preoccupied with how fat everyone is. And although I understand that every now and again it is due to no fault of their own, but that is actually pretty rare. If someone is fat, it is because they don’t want to be thin bad enough.

Then again, I’m 6’ 1” and was 245 lbs and went on a diet 14 years ago to drop to 190. It changed my life. Yeah, I caught women looking away all the time, but the huge difference was how it made me FEEL. I’ve done every Seattle to Portland bike ride since 1991, but in 1997 (when I lost the weight) it was just plain easy. It felt like I had added a turbocharger to my engine.

Oh, and about my “women” comment: If you are single and would like to meet someone, don’t just get HWP. HIT THE GYM. You don’t need to be a bodybuilder, but a person who works out regularly has a “clarity” about their physical presence and a certain healthy look that people cannot put their finger on, but notice.

And you just plain feel better and enjoy life MUCH more when you take off weight.

Seeing weak men all over the place is so disturbing to me.

Another thing - seeing men in skinny jeans? uuuggghhhh!

>>They are slobs and pigs.<<

For me, the epitome of this is the 30 something single fat woman smoking a cigarette while she drives a filthy dirty beater car with windows fogged from years of cigarette smoke and has playboy or similar stickers on her car.

I don’t think being a slob won’t keep you out of heaven, but it almost has a literal foul smell, even when I can only see it. I don’t really understand my repulsion by it, but I am.

>>Seeing weak men all over the place is so disturbing to me.<<

For me, the biggest problem is “weak men” regarding who they are, rather than their physical strength. I saw a LOT of it in an Assembly of God church I used to attend. The men were so “whipped” that it was hard to take. I honestly believe that the average married man in this country hopes that if he is “good” he might “get some this week”. That is beyond sad.

I remember being in a “family builders” class at the above church. There were about 30 couples in the class. One of the guys stood up and apologized to his wife in front of the class for being “too overbearing” to her and his family. It was very moving and he may have been that way. I don’t know.

After he spoke, I spoke to the class. I told them more of us husbands/fathers needed to take the example from the bible as head of the household and actually err in the opposite direction from the guy who had just spoken. I said that the man is responsible for the family, that God has put him in that position, and it means he makes the important decisions and is responsible for the outcome of those decisions. And it frees the wife to do the things within the family unit for which God uniquely made her.

If looks could kill, I would have died of a thousand stab wounds from the women in that room. Interestingly, I said what I said because I knew the families in that room. Most of the men were their wives lap dogs. One actually told me that “if you just do what she says, everything would be fine.”

And that is another problem our current culture is having to deal with...

People parking in Handicapped spots that walk completely fine and then pull down the placard as they drive away.

I see that in Austin quite a bit. Further out in the suburbs, not as often. Matter of fact, I don't care how far the shade trees are from the entrance, every single spot under them is taken so cars stay cooler.

No, a lot of people notice the lazy and stupid, but I am more worried about the hard-working people who are stupid.

If someone uses a scooter they don’t need one.

Yeah they do. In fact they usually are the ones who really need them. Getting a scooter out of a van means that you need extra space around you.

I am pleased to see that they are now putting in handicapped parking places that are meant for vans with scooter lifts in them.
