Attn: FReepers! Please Don’t Blame Orlando For The Casey Anthony Verdict. It Wasn’t Our Jury!

Please do not blame Orlando for the Casey Anthony verdict. Had locals been given a choice, she would convicted overwhelmingly! But we did not get to supply the jurors. They were from Pinellas County, 100 miles and 100 years west of Central Florida. Pinellas County is mostly low class retirees in St. Petersburg, knuckle-dragging cretins in Pinellas Park and the denizens of Scientology World Headquarters in Clearwater. The average IQ in Highpoint and Safety Harbor is less than the air temperature on ays when we wory about the citrus crop freezing.

I grew up there, escaped, and recognize there are a few intelligent people there such as Pinellas County FReepers, (but not former governor Charlie Crist from St. Pete. BTW, Crist, the Gay Blade, has now joined the biggest ambulance chasing firm in the State, and his show “wife” hasn’t been seen with him in years.)

So please, when you think about the all-but-convicted murderess going free here, don’t blame us. BTW, I know Judge Perry well, and he is a VERY good guy. Don’t blame him or us for the jury’s idiocy.

Why is asking the question such a terrible thing?

Sure they are. A mob will try to find anything and everything to blame things on.

I don’t have a dog in this race, but from the comments I’ve read here, it’s the prosecutors who failed (just like in the O.J. case), otherwise, we have the best judicial system on the planet.

I’ve been on two juries this year, and I’m pretty certain it’s the jurors, and the effed up judicial system, and with the like of Nifong, Spitzer, and Cyrus Vance, Jr, in it, whadya expect?!

Actually, I think this jury debacle descerates all hopes and any basis for circumstantial trials altogether in the future. The public is now so dumbed down as to require video of the crime in motion, with the perpetrator standing over the body in a forward motion of attack, preferably with audio included.

No one “gets” circumstantial evidence. It’s a miracle but an intellegent jury did take care of Scott Peterson, but it’s about to get more rare. A very bad jury has aided and abetted a person who is responsible for the death of a toddler.

I know the media (HLN) hyped this whole thing for ratings, and were weighted 97% against Casey from the beginning, but not entirely without good reason and plenty of investigation of their own. Such bias does probably hurt a trial in the same way televised events sway a television audience.

I think you might be anticipating something that’s not going to happen.

What mob?

Strictly speaking, it was probably the correct verdict.

Casey Anthony was a party-girl, who hated the responsibility of motherhood. When she went out to party, she’d knock the kid out. She probably thought it was the perfect compromise, and cheap because she wouldn’t even have to pay for a babysitter.

If the prosecution had charged her with something that she’d serve 20 years, Casey probably would have been convicted.

Orlandos prosecutors, law enforcement etc who compiled an prepared an presented the case.....are at fault.

No places or communities fault. Comedy of errors where a small child an the taxpayers paid the price.

...Please do not blame Orlando for the Casey Anthony verdict...

But you CAN blame the Orange County Sheriffs Department for not following up on early leads on the location of the child's body. Had they done so, there might have been more forensic evidence available. But they didn't and the body lay in a swamp for many months longer and decomposed further.

Notice how all these geniuses show up after the fact, likely didn’t watch the trial, but “knew” the outcome all along?

Your absolutely right..we now live in a society where in order to convict someone of murder you need a camcorder..if Casey ever kills again someone better bring a camcorder to tape it otherwise no one will believe it. Circumstantial cases are decided every single day, no media attention, no cameras in the courtroom, and they are convicted every single day. Hey considering what happened today I am SHOCKED that Scott Peterson was found guilty, especially in my liberal state..I am shocked he did not walk, he, after all is so darn cute why would anyone think he is a murderer.
Some people keep on talking about “Mob rules” PLEASE, no mob was after Casey Anthony..no one had pitch forks asking for her hanging, people had opinions on this case, yes, but no one is outside yelling in the streets for her execution.
We live in a CSI Miami world, people want video evidence in order to believe someone is guilty of murder. If Charlie Manson had been accused of today what he was convicted of back then he probably would have walked..same with Diane Downs, hey she claimed she was abused by daddy too

Hooray for the actual jury? Really?? Casey placed herself at the scene of death but the jury rejected her version of events. That means they concluded she killed the child, just not when she admits to the death occurring. Acquittal was caused by the jurors inability to reason.

Actually the moral to this story is if you get a jury summons GO TO JURY DUTY!!

I never get picked. Most recently I got summoned for June last year, but got rescheduled due to a conflict of schedule with being a delegate to the 2010 Texas GOP Convention. Unfortunately my father suddenly died in early July and I couldn't reschedule jury duty a week after the burial service. I got put into a large jury for some scum who molested a 6 year old girl. I really wasn't emotionally up to serving on a jury at that time and got dismissed.

I wondered about that when the one juror spoke up today and said Casey was basically a good mother. I thought I was going to throw up.
