Heat Index in Paducah: 153!
Weather Underground ^

Posted on 07/11/2011 2:44:14 PM PDT by Renfield

At 5:20 PM EST(4:20 local time), 7-11-2011, the Weather Underground website showed the heat index in Paducah, KY, to be 153 degrees (99 degrees with a 92 degree dew point). I've never seen it like this. (I'm in another part of the state, where the heat index is a paltry 111...I feel like a piker).

Post your astounding summer weather reports here...how hot is it where you are?

95F here in Indiana isn’t all that unusual but it’s rarely coupled with 60 to 70% humidity during the daytime hours.

Our friends in the gulf states must have installed a new and improved humidity pump.

Okay... that still don’t make any difference that the parking lot literally stuck to my feet this afternoon at work and I left a nice set of foot prints on an asphalt tarmac...

Hotter than hell in Indy coupled with high humidity.

Really quite awful.

Dayton Oh at 2:00pm, 95 degrees, dewpoint 81, for a heat index of 113.
I don’t recall ever seeing a dewpoint that high before. I know it is impossible to breathe.

just heard this on local radio today here in MN:

” today’s heat index feels 156 degrees warmer than the coldest windchill factor (-44) this past winter”

no wonder I hate it here.
