Casey Anthony, acquitted of charges that she murdered her daughter Caylee, filed an appeal today of her conviction that she lied to law enforcement officers.
The appeal came days before Anthony, 25, is scheduled to leave jail. She was sentenced to four years on four counts of lying to investigators about Caylee's death. Since she has already served three years and is credited for good behavior, she will be released from the Orange County jail on Sunday.
The jury that acquitted her of murder agreed that she broke the law when she told police she worked at Universal Studios, that she left her daughter with a babysitter named Zenaida Fernandez-Gonzalez, when she claimed that Caylee was missing, and when she claimed that Caylee was still alive and she had spoken to her on the phone July 15, 2008. None of those statements were true.

Casey, you got away with murdering your baby girl, don’t press your luck! WOW I give this baby killer credit, she has nerve I tell ya what
Hey. You missed me. I have been trying to figure out this debt ceiling scam. Are you buying it? Closed meetings. Then Media madness trying to find out our fate. I don’t like it.
Well, hello there. Have been expecting you. I so agree.
You mean, so that when Zanny’s lawyer asks certain questions she can claim the Fifth? Hmmmm...
I sincerely hope Casey Anthony’s appeal is denied. She is such a sociopath. I hope she never gets a good night sleep again.
Why did they think it was all about George?
I do too. As far as the Gonzalez depo, courts always reschedule. I am curious as to why the other judge recused himself regarding the depo.
It’s that transparent thing.. the repubs better not cave on this.
The most vulnerable because of the attempted suicide. It also would have that certain shock value that couldn’t be proven; but might be true(which I don’t believe). The only one that could have been half believable is the affair between George and the woman with two different names and that is only because people can act like dogs on occasion. I don’t believe that one either.
Yep. But I can not figure out what they are fighting about. I am really not worried about 10 years after. On social security??? WTF? Or these budgets? Or Medicare? Not my fight. EPA...Dept. of Education....WTO deals? ...OK but social security in 20 years they lost me.
I’ll send you a FReepmail on this.
She should talk to Obama for lying advice.
I missed what the “bold, new motion” was earlier this afternoon on FOX but figured it would be repeated here and on TV tonight. Aren’t they tired yet of digging up all this junk? What’s the point? She’s a convicted felon from the earlier charges and plea bargain anyway so nothing will change that. Move on, Jose and Casey - where to, we really DON’T CARE!
Caught our favorite Geraldo again this morning on FOX. He was speaking about how the inmates (HA!) in the jail hailed and applauded Casey’s “not guilty” verdict. He said that the cable news shows were to blame for all the hype talk about her being “guilty” (except FOX) while the jail prisoners knew she wasn’t guilty because they wouldn’t applaud a child murderer. He compared it to the murder of the little Jewish boy in Brooklyn and what would be in store for that murderer when he gets to prison.
AGAIN, the interviewer neglected to ask just what did the jail inmates in the Orlando jail knew about Casey’s case???? Maybe all they knew is what they heard from her in the free hour she had from her cell? After all Geraldo, she wasn’t in the general population at the jail, was she?
Did they have free access to the TV trial coverage?
I’m sure they could have picked an impartial jury from that population OR did they? They do pick jurors from voting registrations and we already knew how smart FL voters are!!
Anyone, anyone?
They didn’t feel he was forthcoming and because they couldn’t prove cause of death they seemed to suspect that he might have killed Caylee. It seems they completely overlooked all of the bizarre behavior by Casey. Baez threw enough dirt at George to make him a suspect in their minds.
Obviously the dirt flung and George was enough to cloud their judgment.
You’re right!! The media CAN be tempted, can’t it?
I forgot that I had seen somewhere last night - probably on Greta - that three lawsuits have been filed against Casey and that people would be smart to file anything they have immediately to preclude her from ever profiting if she gets offers of $$$$ and they result in judgments against her.
One was from EquiSearch - one was from Padilla and I forgot the other one. They said three and one of them wasn’t Zanny’s. Does anyone know the third one? Maybe the state trying to recover their costs for investigating her many stories? It really doesn’t matter but I thought the point was good!!!
Load her and her attorneys up. If nothing else, her attorneys can go broke working for her for nothing for the next 10-15 years!! I don’t think the state would pick up the costs of defending her against lawsuits...BUT stranger things have happened.
Like a murderer getting a “not guilty” verdict from a jury!!
They have her on many tapes lying. Lying which she and Baez admitted to in her defense.
They are doing this to tie this case up in appeals courts. It can take years.
Meanwhile Casey can leave town.
They know Casey would lose, but that is down the road.
Haha, no worries, it’s all good.
“Innocence Project”? Never heard of that.
Cool. It is to try and stop wrongful convictions of people on Death Row. By DNA evidence. They were tried before DNA was available. Like Cold Case except to help the wrongfully convicted. It is on Appeals.
