Casey Anthony Appeals Lying Conviction
ABC News ^ | July 15, 2011 | Christina Ng

Casey Anthony, acquitted of charges that she murdered her daughter Caylee, filed an appeal today of her conviction that she lied to law enforcement officers.

The appeal came days before Anthony, 25, is scheduled to leave jail. She was sentenced to four years on four counts of lying to investigators about Caylee's death. Since she has already served three years and is credited for good behavior, she will be released from the Orange County jail on Sunday.

The jury that acquitted her of murder agreed that she broke the law when she told police she worked at Universal Studios, that she left her daughter with a babysitter named Zenaida Fernandez-Gonzalez, when she claimed that Caylee was missing, and when she claimed that Caylee was still alive and she had spoken to her on the phone July 15, 2008. None of those statements were true.

I would say that if the inmate population hailed Casey’s acquittal than she is safe on the outside. The ones who are disgusted with the verdict are disgusted because they know the difference between right and wrong.

I hope the new judge moves this case right along with a decision in months, not years. Before September would be great.

Usually when people stop and think about it they don’t want to execute if the person might be innocent. Although some might consider it like Collateral Damage in a War. But I just think it is a good cause and want to try and make a difference. As small as it might be.

I was thinking he may have recused himself because his he is Latino and maybe he would be accused of partiality to Zaneida.

Either that, or someone wanted him replaced with a female judge.

Those thoughts crossed my mind too. Alway making it look politically correct to the public with no cares about whether she is guilty or not.

Bets on how long she’s going to last?

- - - -
As I posted on another thread today, she will disappear, change her name, and probably end up a murder victim.

Her reckless behavior, lying, and notoriety makes her a perfect target for a serial killer. The expectation is people with think she just ‘disappeared’ again and not look for her.

“All I can say is that I hope the idiots on the jury that found her not guilty ..”

How could all 12 of them be equally insane to acquit a baby killer?
I hope they are haunted by the image of Caylee’s skull with duct tape across it...every night in their dreams for the rest of their lives.

I’m done with Hannity after his defense of the jurors.

People are stupid and the lawyers work their hardest at getting the stupidest ones on the jury (esp defense). I am NEVER picked for a jury because I am too opinionated and vocal and have tainted more than one jury pool by getting other people in the pool to agree with me during voire dire.

Once in US District Court, everyone was told to come back the next day...except me. The next time I got a summons I called to find out if I was still in the jury area (I had moved) and was told to disregard any summons I received from them that it was an error.

The main factor in a case like this is what someone called the CSI factor. People watch TV shows like CSI and expect to have a smoking gun, they also expect answers for every question they have. In this case, there were questions due to the level of decomposition but the basic fact didn’t change, the little girl died. People expect trials to be like the TV show ones and that isn’t reality.

I’m still shocked they didn’t convict her and my husband (lawyer) is still ranting about it when the subject comes up.

Have you heard the two juror who have spoken? Complete gobbledy-gook. Try as they might to make their acquittal seem justified, it doesn’t fly.

Didn't know if this warranted a new thread, but was surprised to find this article this morning:

Man who found Caylee Anthony’s remains sues bounty hunter

That would be Kronk suing Padilla for making false and very public statements, including that Kronk was variously in cahoots with Casey, and/or law enforcement, and/or law enforcement AND Kronk's girlfriend. You gotta wonder about some of these folks--apparently the only one they didn't accuse of conspiring with Kronk was his dog!

Some of the claims made by media-types were pretty wild, but he's really not suing for that much--$15,000.

Kronk, another victim in this whole sorry mess - all caused by a lying, conniving, murdering thief named Casey.

Where do these people go to retrieve their good names?

Maybe the charming and delightful Amy Singer has the answers.

And here's more--from the body of a larger article,

A South Carolina prison inmate now wants a DNA test to see if he's Caylee's father, so he can sue for wrongful death.

I hope someone can prove paternity so she can be sued for wrongful death. Even a SC prisoner would suffice!

Haven't found any articles on the internet yet, but this morning CBS also reported that "thousands" had offered Casey a place to stay after she gets out. Astounding. Hope they lock up their silver and hide their checkbooks. Then again, they know what she's done and what she is, so maybe they have it coming. As long as they don't let her be around their children or pets. (Way too many pets died in that family, according to court testimony.)

Interesting...from the better late than never file:

Casey Anthony's Dad Says She's Not Welcome to Come Home

Casey Anthony's father has made it clear that she is not welcome to come home when she gets out of jail on Sunday following her acquittal for the death of her daughter Caylee, sources close to the case told ABC News.

I’m waiting for the lawsuit against her parents. Bet on it.
Also did JP give her credit for the time she served on the Check Fraud conviction?

Why do we have so many sick people in this society? Why would anyone want that liar and slut in their home? Didn’t they see the real CA during the testimony? The strange jug ears that made her look retarded (which, I actually believe, she is), the terrible eyes, the mean mouth...well, don’t get me started...I’m just not a fan.

Does Cindy know George said this? Heads will roll in the Anthony household! Cindy loves her little Casey. Like mom, like daughter.

Well, I’ll bet she knows NOW! Of course, now the question is, how does Casey know this, when she’s refused all visits and phone calls from her parents, or so I’ve read?

Remember, even serial killers get all these marriage proposals. Wouldn’t surprise me if Casey has a few of those, too. I’ve never understood that. You know someone’s a murderer, yet you want to share a life with them? Yikes.
