Congressional investigators probing the controversial "Fast and Furious" anti-gun-trafficking operation on the border with Mexico believe at least six Mexican drug cartel figures involved in gun smuggling also were paid FBI informants, officials said Saturday.
The investigators have asked the FBI and the Drug Enforcement Administration for details about the alleged informants, as well as why agents at the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, which ran the Fast and Furious operation, were not told about them.
The development raises further doubts about the now-shuttered program, which was created in November 2009 in an effort to track guns across the border and unravel the cartels' gun smuggling networks. The gun tracing largely failed, however, and hundreds of weapons purchased in U.S. shops later were found at crime scenes in Mexico.

When are they going to call Holder to testify under oath? Has he done so already. I mean, he either has to spill the beans and tell the “truth”, or he goes to jail for “perjury”? Which is it?
When is this going to happen? - or has it already happened?
I wonder if this rumor has been floated so that the cartels will eliminate potential witnesses? In other words, put the word on the street that the gun runners were snitches and the cartel will take care of the problem. That way, no gun runners can be called to testify and the story gets covered up.
It is SOP for spy agencies to pick up one of the enemy’s agents and then let the word leak out that they turned the guy into a double agent. The enemy would then kill their own agent for us.
I never believe anything I see in the MSM. If they print the truth, it’s an accident.
I think they are just gathering enough ammo, no pun intended, to nail him to the cross so he can’t wiggle out of trying blend gunrunner and fast and furious.
Well, I suppose we should be thankful the LA Times is covering this, but I think this sentence is giving Holder credit for something he doesn't deserve. I remember reading here that an e-mail surfaced showing the real reason was to have an excuse for more and stricter gun laws in the US.

This entire story makes me literally put the govt in a worse light than the cartels and mafia.

Read somewhere that, at one time, nearly half the KKK were paid FBI informants. Dues paid by the FBI’s informants were what kept the KKK going...
