Alan Simpson, Senator from Wyoming , Co-Chair of Obama's deficit commission, calls senior citizens the Greediest Generation as he compared "Social Security" to a Milk Cow with 310 million teats.

Here's a response in a letter from a unknown farmer in Montana .... I think he is a little ticked off! He also tells it like it is ! --------------------------------------------------------- "Hey Alan, let's get a few things straight..

You won’t hear any GOP candidate make a speech like this. Pity, too, because this fire is what millions of voters are looking for.

SS payments were just another stupid tax to support those who couldn’t plan.

Anyone who thought they were INVESTING in their future was nuts. Baby Boomers must have been high.

Anyone younger than 50 who thinks he/she will see a dime of SS (other than maybe one of the other uses of SS, such as kids with ADHD who have never put a penny in the system) is crazy.

My retirement planning has SS as a big goose egg. I wish they would just kill the damn thing and be done with it.

My worry is they will come after my 401(k) to subsidize people stupid enough to depend on SS for their Depends.

In about five years, the now large Social Security political constituency is going to start shrinking very quickly. Politicians are looking ahead and preferring their constituents for federal funding to local governments (feminist social programs, public education, police funding, planning offices, that is Agenda 21 and the like, building regulation offices, environmental, etc.).

“Alan Simpson, Senator from Wyoming”

Cannot stand this idiot. I watched him on tv say how he held his nose and voted for all this crap.

He was part of the problem and no solution.

Senator Simpson. The largest holder of that $14 Trillion dollars of debt is me, we, and us who have paid into the Federal Insurance Contributions Act tax, about 2.4Trillion while china holds about 959 Billion.

We and our employers have paid this TAX and we deserve the Insurance Benefits.

Pay up or leave town and go do one of those shovel ready jobs.

Your worry is well-founded because you seem stupid enough to cavalierly dismiss the system of Social Security retirement benefits as a con-game, let the syatem collapse, not hold the Simpsons of the country to account, and call everyone that paid in to the system (except yourself) fools. Your take on the whole thing shows you to be stupid.

Thanks for this..

I heard the nitwit in chief say the other day that every month, the US sends out some 80 million checks for payments. I suppose most of these are for Social Security, pensions, Medicare and Medicaid reimbursements and unemployment compensation. It seems the political class has achieved its goal of making a large share of normal Americans dependent on their neighbors for sustinence.

How in G-d's name could anybody think this is the vision laid out for this country some 200+ years ago? Would the framers ever have expected that one day, under the country they designed, a free person would have to receive money forced from his working neighbors for his food and his entertainment and his health care?

Is it greed to demand what you were promised when you paid your social security and medicare taxes?

Alan Simpson is a senile old coot and second-generation lifetime politician. He is a favorite appointee to “bipartisan commissions” for Democratic Presidents who know Simpson will embarrass himself and the GOP.

Simpson is best known for brokering the 1986 amnesty agreement, and we all know how this turned out.

everything is working out the way they planned it..

.increase taxes dramatically....and for we boomers, its been a HUGE titanic increase because IIRC, the SS tax began at 0.5%....

keeping delaying the payouts ....

and along the way use OUR money for illegals, slackers, drug addled and drunks, the malingerers, etc...

same with medicare....now, its not important that my paycheck pays for everybody else, and now again, its not important that there is nothing left for me....

I understand Robin Hood more and more each day....

..wanna see politicians start to squirm?... WE THE PEOPLE SHOULD START TO ASK, WHERE'S THE MONEY?..WE WANT ACCOUNTIBILITY WHERE BILLIONS HAVE GONE, WHO GOT THE MONEY? HOW MUCH WAS PAID BACK? AND WHERE IS IT NOW? you paying attention ISSA?..before the election in 2010 Issa said he had 44 investigations lined up...before he got caught up in gun running fiasco...the same delaying tactics are being used now...THEY FOCUS on one thing...play it out for two years (Lewinsky) meanwhile it will be "cleaned" and another administration comes on board and we the people are stuck with the s***ty end of the stick again. Soros/OBAMA...Soros invests in Brazil while Obama gives them 10 billion to develop...while cutting drilling here..(moratorium still in effect) Billions sent overseas? OBAMA shakes down 20 billion from BP...spends 5 billion, Issa where's the rest going? ...it's time we start demanding ANSWERS from the leadership of both parties

You are misunderstanding my point: People who BELIEVED in SS were and are stupid. When I started work at 17 YO lo those 30+ years ago I could do basic math and figure that out.

They had no choice to pay, no more than any other Payroll tax — but until it is repealed it should be seen as evil at shoved down our throats that must be struck down.

There is no “system” to collapse — it is a house of cards. It will collapse on its own: better we just take it down and call it the failed experiment it was.

It is a “con game” — the biggest Ponzi scheme in the history of mankind. If YOU don’t see that, well, you are welcome to your own version of math.

If you depend on SS for anything other than bubble-gum money, then I pity you.

That’s all well and good but did the email writer not know that his representatives in Congress were spending like drunken sailors and didn’t the people of Montana (like every other state) support geting all the PORK they could possibly get from the Federal goverment?

We are all to blame for this debt fiasco, every damn one of us. We took all the pork and elected Congress people who promised to get us more pork. Muliply that by every Congress person for the last 50 years and you got a whole lot of porkulus.

We didn’t and I didn’t. We also got taxed with “payroll taxes” “car taxes” “taxes for Deaf supplies” “sales tax” and a myriad of taxes we didn’t want and didn’t help us at all.

SS was just another useless tax — a drain on us. My reaction is that it is INSANE to believe we would see anything back on it. And beyond insanity to madness to actually PLAN that we would see anything.

He is greedy, sucks the taxpayers for his salary as senator and now for all the perks and pension he gets from the taxpayers....and all the graft he could collect when a senator...the greedy porker should be ashamed to open his mouth...never held a job in his adult life probably.

“If you depend on SS for anything other than bubble-gum money, then I pity you.”

No need to personalize the discussion, freedumber, because I don’t (depend on it). The fool you need to pity is you. Let’s get back to YOUR worry, the worry you expressed about your 401k. That is what you should worry about, because it is a government creature as much as SS, and it will crash with the markets. After all, any bond, note, security, whatever is nothing but a promise to pay and when markets collapse, so will your prized 401k, and it isn’t backed up by the power to tax. You are just too stupid to realize that you may be grateful for the SS retirement benefits you paid into for a whole 30 years, and which you will probably be paying into for another 20 years, at which time you will collect them, and then be glad you did pay into the system.
