In February of 2009, President Obama went on the Today Show to discuss a variety of issues, including his plan to turn the economy around. When asked about the consequences of failure for his presidency, he replied with unusual frankness: "I will be held accountable.
If I don't have this done in three years, then there's going to be a one-term proposition." The January 2009 unemployment rate had just been released a few days before that interview was broadcast, and it stood at 7.6 percent. Now, more than two and a half years later, the rate stands at 9.2 percent. Moreover, unemployment has only dipped below 9 percent in two of the past 26 months. This is the longest run of such rates since the Great Depression. In other words, Obama's three years are nearly up and he most emphatically doesn't "have this done."

I can´t help but think the folks in Washington DC knew that this 400 point drop in Wall Street was sure to come.! I bet they know another drop is also coming. Oh My.
Obama doesn’t need a second term because you only need one term to collect the retirement benefits, Secret Service protection, invitations for well-paying speaking engagements, etc.
Although a second term looks better on your resume, he’d be happy enough with one.
One and DONE.
Yep, look at Jimmy Carter, for example. Carter was defeated for re-election, but never quite went away. He has done some good work with charity such as Habitat for Humanity, but he’s also gone on the lecture circuit, and written books, and become quite wealthy after leaving the White House.
Now the down side is that Carter has become something of a respected elder stateman, at least among certain liberal types.
What he really means is if he can’t destroy this economy and install a dictatorsip in 3 years he’s toast. So far he’s right on target.
I cannot imagine anyone wanting to take over this train wreck. It will take more than one term to fix this mess and the worst is yet to come. If a republican takes over the media will fight him all the way and insure that he goes down in history as the monster that caused it all. The media is already trying to hang this on the T party.
That has been the pattern over the years, the conservatives build a little and then the socialists take over and squander it on feel good programs. Then it repeats all over again.
