They were going to bring back I Dream of Jeannie until obama killed the manned space program.
Aw . . . imagine the intrigue and comedic potential for seeing Tony Nelson wait to hitch a ride on Pooty-poot's Soyuz rockets . . . ? and of course Jeannie comes to the rescue after the FSB (today's KGB) arrests him for espionage . . . TV gold

If you were the Professor on an island with Ginger & Mary Anne, would YOU want them rescued & go back to being a nerd neither of them would notice?

Of course in the remake, The Professor will have the hots for The Skipper.

“Actually, if done right, I could see a remake of The Wild, Wild West being very successful.”

###

I’ve always thought that as well.

But Hollywood today is too “multicultural” not to F everything up.

How about McHale’s Navy with a heavily tattooed, felonious, hip hop crew spewing profanity every 3rd word? Pathologically unfunny Chris Rock as Ensign Parker.

Didn't the Stevens have a service tray right near the front door?

That son of a gun couldn't even get his jacket off before his wife had him halfway through a gin martini.

Lost In Space , just finished the whole run on Hulu. I found I still think the same as I did as a kid, the 1st season was great, The 2nd and 3rd was nothing but Dr Smith the Robot and Will. LIS got a bad review from me as a kid and still gets one lmao! Bewitched gets the same hated it then hate it now.

Sure, why not? Just don't use any period-correct references to the Japanese.

You mean, as McHale called them, “The Nips”?

The original version was a drama with McHale and crew stranded on Taratupa with a bunch of natives after their PT boat was sunk. A straight arrow Lt arrives to try to bring order. McHale and crew eventually use a captured Jap PT boat to sink a Jap cruiser. I would love to see dramatic versions of both McHale’s Navy and Hogan’s Heros.

“Whatever happened to one of the networks planning a reality program “The Beverly Hillbillies”?

I had heard quite some time ago that they were planning on finding a real “hillbilly” family from the south and moving them into a mansion in Beverly Hills and filming their everyday life.”

That got cancelled after the real ‘hillbilly’ family ate the neighbors dog and shot the postman.

If it isn’t Elizabeth Montgomery, it isn’t Bewitched. You can’t replace her. She carried the show.

Right.

I wish I could find the "pilot" for that show online. It was part of the Alcoa Theater and was done as a rather dark drama, not a comedy.

And if most people were honest, he was the funniest guy on the show.

I agree with you 1000%. While I don’t advocate for the lifestyle, I really don’t care if someone is gay or whatever. So long as I don’t have it thrown in my face, so to speak.

His “act” was great. I had no idea “how gay” he was until I was watching an old episode when I was in college.

EM was still hot. Sabrina was hotter.

And even today, when my wife has a glass of wine before dinner I ask “if Darren had a bad day at the office.”

Not only would they not notice a nerd back home, but they would also be able to file charges.

Just sayin’

We all knew in the 70s, that Liberace, Paul Lynde, Charles Nelson Reily, Rip Taylor, etc. were gay, but we didn’t care. They didn’t go into the details of their personal lives, they were just these flamboyant clowns.

They jumped the shark when they went to Italy. I love Italy. Navy and Italy just did not mix.

The “dramatic version” of Hogan’s Heroes was Stalag 17 starring William Holden. Holden played a wheeling, dealing Sgt. Sefton, and Sig Ruman (same guy as in Hogan’s Heroes) played Sgt. Johann Sebastian Schulz.

Thanks for info the original McHale’s Navy. Did the movie have a different name from McHale’s Navy?
