Is CBS Bewitched? Network Plans to Remake the Classic TV Series
TV Guide ^ | Aug 9, 2011 | Hanh Nguyen

Between the coven on True Blood and The CW's upcoming teen witch drama, The Secret Circle, don't we have enough witches on TV? CBS thinks not.

The network has ordered a script for a remake of the classic TV comedy Bewitched, Variety reports.

The recent success of certain reboots such as CBS' Hawaii Five-0 continues to keep networks and studios interested in the remake biz, despite poor box-office numbers or viewer backlash. ABC is reimagining Charlie's Angels for the coming fall season.

More regurgitated crap. Doesn’t Hollywood or the TV industry have any original ideas?

They’ll probably hire a real Dick to play Darren.

It wasn’t worth the time when the original shows were on TV.

“It wasn’t worth the time when the original shows were on TV.”

I was a kid when Bewitched was on TV. I didn’t like then either. I could’nt stand Gilligan’s Island either. I had no patience for people who could make a radio out of a coconut but not build another boat.

Doesn’t anyone have an ORIGINAL idea in Hollywood? Movies are remakes of classics - TV shows are remakes of classics. . .I’d love to get paid the big bucks for regurgitating an old idea.

Whatever happened to one of the networks planning a reality program “The Beverly Hillbillies”?

I had heard quite some time ago that they were planning on finding a real “hillbilly” family from the south and moving them into a mansion in Beverly Hills and filming their everyday life.

Now THAT would have been the first reality show I had ever watched since Chuck Berry’s “Gong Show”.

The way TV is today, they will have to have the obligatory gay character.

So which recurring character will be gay??? Aunt Clara?? Uncle Arthur?? Dr. Bombay???

And what about the obligatory “sexual” references which are part of everything nowadays? Will we see a bedroom scene, in which Darren wants Samantha to use withcraft to make him able to function on those nights when things aren’t working??? Sorry to be graphic, but this kind of gratutious crap does pop up on TV nowadays.

And will Samantha and Endora have spells which can fight global warming???? If they go there, this show will “jump the shark” in a hurry.

You don’t find Gilligan being blown sideways while clinging to a palm tree funny?

Tabitha. Because being a young hip lesbian is so trendy these days.

I know I was little when the original series was on. But if you can, take a look. There was a very, very gay character on that show.

Uncle Arthur was about as flamboyant as you get.
