Mystery Plant
Vanity | 08/21/2011 | Self

Posted on 08/21/2011 11:24:57 AM PDT by Twotone

My aunt has an unusual plant that came up in her garden & needs some help identifying it. It looks like a variety of squash, & I've done a search for images. But nothing I found matches it identically. I thought I'd ask for some FReeper assistance...

Could be a variety of pumpkin or gourd also. From the size of the leaves, I’d guess a winter squash, if it is indeed a squash.

Wait until it germinates and you actually have a squash. Will be easy to identify at that point.

Could it be an Obama squish plant that takes over your patio, blocking the fire escape, so that you violate fire codes and have to tear your house down for your personal safety and so you can live in public housing?

That there sure looks a lot like a Pumpkin blossom.

If not, it's a fruit plant of some sort. Let it grow and see what ya get.
