MANKATO, Minn. (AP) Mankato police probably never expected to get a call like this.
The 911 caller said two young girls, dressed in their pajamas, were out for a walk with a goat about 11:30 p.m. Saturday. The girls told the investigating officer that the goat lived in their bedroom closet and that they regularly took it out for late-night walks.

I hope the miscreants are at least cited for herding without a license.
What, no moose?
If girls at age 6 and 7 came up with the idea to steal a goat and keep it in their closet... their parents should have just a ball of fun when they hit their teens!
I didn’t realize until this summer that goats wag their tails in happiness just like dogs.
Did their goat like like this?
This is known in islamic circles as a foursome
“... goats wag their tails in happiness just like dogs”
I have seen goats at rural county fairs and to be honest... they are sort of like dogs IMHO. Many of the goats seemed to “like” little children and seemed to enjoy being petted. I’m wondering if the little girls thought they were “like a doggy” and decided to “keep” one as a pet?
Hmmm honey, where are our daughters?
Stories like that really get my goat.
Have you seen the fainting goats? Very unusual.
Maybe backing up...
(Gotta admit, it took me this long to figure out what that picture was).
Goat eyes give me the creeps.
I guess it never occurred to their parents to tell their daughters, "Don't steal any animals from the zoo." I'm sure I was never told that by my parents when I was their age.
I’ve seen fainting goats on Youtube but never in person. Pretty crazy! The only thing about goats that sort of creep me out are their eyes... the weird slants.
Those were two very baaad girls.
The little delinquents will probably butt heads with the law again.
But then, maybe I’m being too gruff.
I think it is a cute story. They sure did want a pet goat.
It was Bush’s fault. Him and that cursed “My Pet Goat” story.
When my two younger daughters saw a baby goat at a fair... they begged their Daddy if they could have it. We live in the Suburbs so that is completely out of the question but if we lived in a rural setting... why not? If I recall, it was a Dwarf Pygmy goat and it was CUTE!
Some farm animals can make great pets. As long as you clean up where they indiscriminately shiat.
Step sisters. This has Cinderella written all over it...
I don’t care what anyone says. A kid shouldn’t be out for a walk at 11:30PM
I know that some blended families have issues with the kids getting alone. I don’t think this is an instance of that! In fact, the sisters seem to get along very, very well. (the parents should definitely keep an eye on those two as they get older!)
The goat was noted to be quite relaxed and calm, unlike those nights when taken for a stroll by his friend Akhmed.
My mil lives in TN and there are some on the way to her house.
Nothing is cuter than the Pygmy Pony Equestrian competition at the Bolton County Fair in Bolton, MA. Ever see kids so excited that they forget to breath?
When I saw the title of this piece plus the fact that it was an event in Mankato I instantly thought this would have been a great Little House on the Prairie episopde back in the day. My Favorite Program ever!
Oh yeah, BIG time!
Are the Pygmy Ponies like miniature horses? The really small ones? I have seen kids so excited that they forget to breathe! It is a lot of fun to watch that much enjoyment and excitement in little ones!

Wasn’t that a Tom T. Hall song?
Its nice to know there is still a place in this country where two little girls in their pajamas can go out walking at night and the first question the police ask is where did you git the goat
A moose bit my sister once.
Any story that begins with “two young girls, dressed in their pajamas, were out for a walk with a goat” sounds like the beginning of a joke.

Most Herbavores just poop anywhere because they are constantly migrating to newer pastures.
Why didn’t the cop shoot the goat?
I don’t understand. Lack of training?
“Why didnt the cop shoot the goat?”
Maybe it’s a union goat.
So goes the story of the policeman who pulled over the Surburban for speeding. In the family truckster was a family and two of the lovliest, happiest goats you will ever see.
Policeman says, “Hey, where did you get the goats?” Kid in back says “the Zoo.” Cop says to Driver, “I want you to take these goats to the zoo right now.” Dad nods and drives off.
Next day, sure enough, the cop pulls over the same Suburban. The family is singing “Old McDonald”, the kids are having a blast. Next to them are the two goats, sporting Raybans. Cop says, “Hey, I thought I told you to take those goats to the zoo.”
Daughter rolls down her window, looks at the cop and says,”We did, today we are taking them to the beach.”
Ba du dump
Har! It’s the same old story: Ya raise yer kid to be a cop, and he ends up as a tour guide for goats.
Since this is in MN, I guess the goat’s next stop is the Mall of America...
................"I approves of ur story"................
Akhmed the Dead Terrorist???
"SILENCE!!! I KEEL YOU ALL!!!"
No, that would be "Two girls and a goat walk into a bar..."
Then don’t eat them.
Happily, the Arab, also at the zoo, was reunited with his beloved wife.
Goat licks electric fence.
“Goat licks electric fence.”
...and seems to enjoy it...
There was video of a horse playing with an electric fence, he kept putting his leg against it.
Oh, great. Now there’ll be a federally funded study of sadomasochism in the animal world, coming from a state university near you...
Well, the misses had a dog that would run into walls to knock himself out.
