Spiders are the most feared pest, although people increasingly have phobias about hornets, rats and wasps, a new study has revealed.

Spiders topped a "fear index", with two-thirds of those questioned saying they were spooked by them, a survey of 2,000 adults by home emergency firm HomeServe found.

Hornets and rats were closely behind, with foxes sneaking into the top 10 ahead of mice, fleas, slugs and snails, while moths, flies and ants were the least feared.

I fear the kvetching libtard. Part rodent, part cockroach, part dung beetle.

I'm most creeped out by the Daddy longlegs, or harvestmen as some call them, but they're not considered spiders:

What's to hate about spiders? I hate the damn things, HATE THEM....would rather pick up a water mocassain.

I'd have a damn heart attack if I lived in Austrailia.

My 26 year old, 200+ lb. tatted son screams like a girl when he sees a spider.

So does his mom :)

I think it’s a genetic/psychological thing that you can’t help.

I'd have a damn heart attack if I lived in Australia.

Australia is also home to nine of the top ten most venomous snakes in the world.

If the heart attack doesn't kill ya, they will! Lol!

Aw, daddy long legs are nothing. We used to play with them when we were little.

Now, snakes. I hate snakes. And the two legged tree huggin’ RATS.

And how much did this useless study cost? Can I get a grant to study how much beer it takes to get me drunk? You know there are hundred types of beer. This could last me a life time.
When, and if I ever get done, I’ll research wine.

Australia is also home to nine of the top ten most venomous snakes in the world.

And it's nine because the Beaked Sea Snake is a marine species living in the ocean off Australia

We have our share of Black Widows in our desert, but they stay outside and my spritzing seems to keep 'em under control......what I'm always on the lookout for are scorpions; nocturnal and damn near invisible - and a couple of times a year we'll find one in the house.

I don't do the barefoot thing unless I'm nekkid.
