Based on filing requirement deadlines as I understand them, Governor Palin technically has until November 11th at 5pm to announce her campaign for the presidency (this being the latest she could submit her paperwork and the $35,000 filing fee for the South Carolina primary, which is the earliest filing deadline of any of the caucuses or primaries that will determine the ultimate Republican nominee).
The Governor, however, has promised to let her supporters know her intentions definitively by the end of September.

Palin has said she is considering entering the race for the 2012 GOP nomination, already under way in Iowa, which holds the first nominating caucus, and other early-voting states. She has said she expects to make a decision by the end of September, and is not expected to disclose her plans during her speech Saturday at a tea party rally in a town south of Des Moines.

Apparently there are some that are getting impatient. Whether you are supporting or throwing rocks will not change anything. Gov. Palin said "by the end of September."
On a "predictive" note, Gov. Palin indicated she is attending the World Knowledge Forum, which runs from Oct. 11 to 13 and is expected to discuss US leadership in the midst of global economic turmoil. Other speakers include former British prime minister Gordon Brown and Larry Summers, ex-director of President Barack Obama’s National Economic Council.
Given that an announcement of active candidacy prior to that would cause quite a stir and a reasonable expectation would be numerous public appearances around the U.S. the "end of September" time-frame settles in quite nicely.
The decision to run is hers but I would think attending the World Knowledge Forum as a candidate would present an outstanding opportunity to contrast herself against Larry Summers, ex-director of President Barack Obama’s National Economic Council.

Actually, Palin told David Brody the end of September or October. So when September passes without a decision, people need to realize that an October decision is still on the table.

Palin: I think that that is a fair time line for people, because Fall time, they can start getting engaged with different campaigns, but still thinking about it, and really, really desiring to be a participant in the positive change that needs to happen in this country.

Like you, I too believe NEWT was the best. Give that man credit, he is Very smart. I liked when he chastised the media for trying to get the candidates into fighting each other.
Perry was the target tonight and did a great job at taking each shot. America is looking for someone to say it like it is with Obama and Perry was strongest on calling him out. I think Perry retained his lead tonight, that makes him the WINNER. Cain was definitely in second, best line with “If 10% good enough for GOD, 9% surely good enough for government”. Newt has a better shot that he will wake up with a head of dark hair tomorrow then becoming President, so I really don’t consider him a serious candidate. Romney is just not tough enough, he is missing something. Bachmann, not a good night. Santorum and Huntsman quit while your ahead. Ron Paul is starting to sound like the ice cream truck, annoying.

You’re talking about the same new RINO Laura that said the GOP and the Tea Party were WRONG on the debt ceiling debate? She is in the tank for Romney and has lost most if not all of her prior “conservative” credibility. Plus, she and the former FR American Idol Coulter criticized Palin the other day. Hanging around Krauthead and Rove too much.

I agree...he will get another shot to appear sharper at the next debate before anyone can say he isn’t up to the task. I just think he needed this one to warm-up. He is still third on my list.
In the end, y’all need to accept that there is only going to be ONE Republican nominee. Most of us who have a preferred candidate have to accept that there’s a better chance that our candidate will lose than win.
We, as Republicans, have to ditch the scorched earth/take the ball and go home attitude that seems to crop up. You want your guy/gal to win, but be prepared that your guy/gal won’t, and be prepared to accept someone else.
Perry did fine for his first performance but he’s got to get better in future debates. He was eloquent on some answers (jobs, capital punishment) and halting on others (SS, education, environment)
Romney had an exceptional night but had lousy eye contact w TV audience.
Newt wants to be in either’s cabinet. Let him fumigate HUD or HHS.
Only the honest would admit that, all others with their pet candidates would never go there.
But for those there, Perry.
Bachmann looked rode hard and put away wet, she just looked haggard to me.
Gingrich had some good lines, but will not serve to boost him.
Thought Ron Paul damned near lost it when Perry retorted about Paul's letter on Reagan.
Cain did OK, but just barely.
Huntsman, never even left the starting line.

I agree that Newt as in the first debate came out as the strong man for removing Obama. I get the feeling that Newt being in the debates is like a father figure to guide the others on the political realities of big time presidential politics. Too bad he has the personal baggage that will not be in his favor as the top gun.
Unfortunately, the media has done such a great Alinsky-style attack on him, he won't get the recognition he deserves.
He would make an exceptional Secretary of State (in a Cain Administration, of course!).
Romney has been through this before, the guy should have knocked this out of the park. He has been rehearsing for eight years and this is the best he’s got. Honestly?
I loved Newt’s kickback. Give them the same disrespect that they are constantly (especially NBC) dishing out.

I think Sarah Palin won the debate tonight. Every candidate up there got hurt in one way or another other the Newt and he isn’t going anywhere anyway.

I have heard a lot of the interviews on her show and his was right at the bottom.
If he does that in a debate he isn't going to do well at all.
And that is exactly what happened. He did not do well.
Diverting your reasoning to commentary on the interviewer regarding their personal opinion on unrelated issues is not going to change the facts.

Hate to say it, but Romney did best. Newt had the best answers. I was pretty impressed with all of them, though Paul is too old and too odd, and Huntsman is... a little creepy or something, wouldn’t want him on my side in a fight.
