I'm thinking you wouldn't want to live in a place where there is freedom with no boundaries whatsoever. Such a place never existed and never will.

Similarly, I don't think you'd voluntarily stick around long at a site that had no rules whatsoever.

Freedom is always exercised within boundaries. At FR, those boundaries are set by the site owner. If you can't abide by those boundaries, then this is not the place for you.

The difference between the Soviet Union and Free Republic, is that Free Republic is not a government, but a private enterprise owned by Jim Robinson et. al. As such, he and his agents have a right to decide what does and does not go on this site. That is called property rights, and it is one of the foundations of conservatism.
