Okay, here is a weekend fun challenge: Guess how much of Dianne Feinstein's campaign cash was stolen via embezzlement by her treasurer Kinde Durkee. We already know that Durkee WIPED OUT the campaign cash of Loretta Sanchez so it is hard to believe that she wouldn't have touched at least some of the $5 million of Di-Fi cash. This little BLURB from the L.A. Weekly doesn't make it look too good for Di-Fi:
Feinstein's re-election campaign had about $5 million in the bank as of June 30, according to the disclosure forms Durkee submitted.
Durkee has been accused of filing false disclosure statements to hide transfers to her own funds. Feinstein's consultants have been trying to ascertain whether Feinstein lost any money, said strategist Bill Carrick. Banks have frozen Durkee's clients' accounts, and have asked for notarized release forms before disclosing their balances.
"This is gonna be a long time figuring it out," Carrick said. "There's no way to access anything."
Your humble correspondent is going to go out on the limb and guess that Durkee embezzled $4.5 million from Wi-Fi. What is your guess?
If the total is over $3 million I am predicting that Wi-Fi would just throw her hands into the air and give up trying to run for re-election. Just too much trouble to raise that money again.
This sounds like a small-scale version of what happened to our tax dollars (and out children’s and grandchildren’s) thanks to DiFi and her cohort.
Since DiFi has been using Durkee since ‘92, I’d say it’s a ton of moolah. One could also say DiFi’s a turkey for using Durkee...
I am confused by all this. There was no crime. Its simply a matter of Democrats “sharing the wealth” of other Democrats. This is what Obama campaigned for in 2008... :0)

Exactly and if there were any interest on it; it got stolen too.
I would suspect that if these folks plead “victim” their coffers will quickly refill with maybe a little surplus.
I will bet she and Miss I can’t decide whether I want to be caucasian or hispanic stole the money for themselves.
I know that DiFi has a horrible temper but can you imagine the temper tantrums she is throwing right now as she awaits the bad news about exactly how much was embezzled? The fact that Turkey Durkee wiped out all of Loretta Sanchez’s campaign cash can’t be making her feel very optimistic.
They are about to release her on bail. My recommendation? Make a beeline for Rio de Janeiro. Psst! No extradition treaty for embezzlement.
I am struck about how much this reminds me of Madoff and his fraud against his affinity group. When you have a crook committing theft against “fellow believers”, the crook has an additional shield against discovery because the suspicion first has to get past the affinity barrier.
That’s probably been pre-arranged; I’d guess that Feinstein won’t want her around making plea bargains.

What did she do with all that $$..drugs? nah.. a habit that size would have killed her by now...I bet it’s gambling...
FYI...she just made bail..which is surprising..since she’s accused of embezzling..judge won’t let you use assets of your crimes for bail..more likely a friend put it up..or a relative..maybe a house..
