What is Palin doing and why is she letting us down

Posted on 09/12/2011 6:26:10 PM PDT by se_ohio_young_conservative

I have a strong supporter off Governor Palin since 2009. and I have been attacked for that at times here on FR.

It feels like she is leaving us hanging. Those of us who donated money and support to her over the last few years have a right to know where is this going. I used to be angry with the media, but now im somewhat unsure with her as well because she is not fighting back on their side of the 50. She hasn't been on tv debating liberals and getting in the mix. Why isn't she trying to change the unfair media image.

I can't understand why she would let the support she has slip between her fingers. I can't understand why she is not trying to gain more support.

Agreed. “Free” now only means “Didn’t cost me nothing.”

Which begs the question that IF the US taxpayers were funding this vaccine, why would Perry have to mandate by executive order?

“No, just a tacit admission on your part that you are a Perrysite troll and disruptor.

Let me know when Perry has national-level talk show hosts and late-night comedy shows joking in public as part of the act before a live camera, on the air, about incest in his family, or his underage daughters getting pregnant by a statutory rape by a professional athlete in between innings of a baseball game.

I didn’t Mr. Swaggering he-man Perry defending her: he was sucking his thumb under the dining room table hoping the press wouldn’t notice him as well.

Nor for that matter did I see a single comment from you defending her.

Cheers!...”

No admission whatsoever. You have assumptions.........assumptions. Think Bobby DeNiro while reading that last part.

So, when Perry has personally be-clowned himself with a side-show reality career and a directionless internet media “campaign”...........he will be ready to run for POTUS? That’s what a “real” candidate has to do these days? If only Perry had been on TV with a show titled “Rick Perry’s Texas” shooting coyotes and eating tortillas he’d be all better now? Jeezus Krist.

Maybe the same for Romney? A little Massachusetts “Big Love.” How many wives do you really have, Mr. Romney? That kind of stuff, eh?

That’s where you’re at. Live with it. But, you can learn.

Please do.

You wrote: “Here ya go straight from Alaska...”

Did you see Palin’s interview with Greta? In a follow-up portion of the shots issue Palin made it very clear that her State was not going to administer the shots.

That was what I took away from Palin speaking out against Perry and her own decision for her State not to do it.

Did any other Freepers see that portion of the interview and get the same point?

Wow thanks for the kind words, but I’m pretty darn stupid sometimes.

I’ll have to check that story out.

Wasn’t Hillary “The Inevitable One” at this point in 2007 ?

I think we are way early, and I think SP and the Tea Party attitude includes some element of “DC shouldn’t be this important to people’s everyday existence, therefor spending too much time RUNNING for office is a negative trait in a candidate.”

What about this crazy theory? Palin is running but not yet. Bachmann,Cain,Gingrich and Santorum are helping her by paving the way garnering support from many different groups of people. They are also taking the media's arrows and getting Romney and Perry to focus on each other. When she declares her candidacy they will endorse her and she will have all the support she needs as well as key members of her cabinet.

Perry's beclowned himself while pretending to run as a conservative when he's a globalist, pay-for-play statist.

Palin's reality show was a stroke of genius: it allowed one of her targeted constituencies (dissatisfied-with-Obaama blue-collar families) to see her as one of them, in a more natural setting compared to the glare of the political stage. And not only did she not have to pay any publicists for the opportunity, she *earned* money doing it.

And all under the auspices of the private sector, without any of Perry's influence peddling.

And as I posted elsewhere on the thread, let me know when late night network comedy shows and talk show hosts joke on the air about incest in Perry's family, or his underaged daughter getting pregnant as the result of a statutory rape by a professional athlete between innings of a baseball game.

Cheers!

She told about her planned campaign and her style of governance if she *were* to take the White House.

I just picked up my copy of "Going Rogue" and skimmed it a bit. The opening quote introducing Chapter Six comes from Chuck Heath Sr. (Her Father). It reads:

"Sarah is not retreating, she's reloading."

I am waiting for Sarah to declare before I support any candidate. I am GLAD she has not declared, to be honest! The constant campaigning that begins as soon as one cycle is over is insufferable! We were all complaining about that not TOO long ago, if I remember correctly, so let’s all take a deep breath and sit back. Besides, I am sure that there is plenty of time, according to the earliest primary, she still has a couple months left. Actually, if she does declare, I think it will give her a tactical advantage. When everybody else has made all their blunders and we are sick to death of the debates, she’ll come in as a breath of fresh air. It’s not as if we don’t know her positions and experience.

Maybe she’s doing exactly what it appears she’s doing. She’s not running for President, and she wants to make as much money as she can while her “brand” is hot.

Maybe.

Maybe not.

>”I like Palin, but history has not been kind to failed VP candidates”<

Yeah, it's not like Nixon didn't get elected President of the United States TWICE. Oh, my mistake.

With the situation we as a Country face today, history is no longer the bell weather. If you told me ten years ago, or even five years ago, that the Electorate would vote for a Marxist mystery man like Obama, I would have never believed it could happen.

None the less, here we are wondering if our great Nation will actually be able to survive the repression of Obama’s Ideology and failed Policies.

What is Palin doing and why is she letting us down

"What is Palin doing and why is she letting us down" equals "I have my own ideas of what she should do, how she should do it, and when she should do it. Because none of this is happening according to the schedule and fashion that I envision, it's really a reflection of how she feels about me."

The idea some folks seem to be pushing that there is something fundamentally wrong with her because she isn't copying other GOP folk announcing their candidacy by announcing when they announce and "running" when they run and "debating" them when they all get together in their gab-fests that have, until now, been managed by many of the very media people those same folks claim have no legitimacy pretty much contradicts the claim by the same folks that they want a candidate who is different, who has her own mind and way of doing things.

It boils down to a whine of, "I wanted you to be different but here you are refusing to be just like everyone else in the Republican field of candidates! That means you aren't a serious candidate."

Is she talking with people who are those that would vote for her? Yes. Is she doing this all over the country? Yes. Are those who come to hear her coming out in larger numbers than they are for any other "serious" candidate (like Pawlenty and Huntsman or this year's "It's Bob Dole's/John McCain's turn" candidate, Mitt Romney)? Yes. Does she continue to point out the flaws of a government controlled by folks like Obama? Yes. Does she continue to point out what has made America great in the past and what can make America great again in the future? Yes. Is she focussing the attention of people on serious issues and telling them that they can make a real difference and that it, like the election of 2010, depends on them and what they do rather than on what their Democrat/statist opponents think they can't do? Yes.

Then it looks like she's been doing a real service for the cause rather than merely using the cause as a means of promoting her own, relatively more narrow, agenda of running for public office. But then some folks, such as I've seen here (on FR, not just this thread), stamp their feet and say in a pouty Shirley Temple fashion, "But none of that counts because she still hasn't formally announced like everyone else who has already announced has already announced!!! She's just promoting herself by not announcing instead of announcing and promoting herself!"

Another find in my skimming of Sarah Palin's "Going Rogue." It's a wonderful essay enclosed in the back of the book, and it can be found at http://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=190499321955

Don't pass it up ... It's a record of Sarah's accomplishments as Governor of Alaska.

I think even if Palin decides to enter like Reagan, late, she doesn’t have the wind at her back. She’ll be bumped out in the primaries, and that will be that.

Other than here on FR, you do not hear about Patin much at all. Whether the media discovered this chink in her armor intentionally or not, it has permanently stymied her ability to achieve the billing she could have gotten even two months ago.

I think her ship has sailed, and she hasn’t even gotten to the ticket counter yet.

I think we are looking at a Perry presidency in 12.

She’s not going to run but I’m sure she will be instrumental in helping the eventual GOP nominee win the presidency. Everybody doesn’t have to run for President to serve their country.

If she doesn’t run

she will always be a “what could have been” and just another talking head. it all comes down to courage in the end. Either she has it or she doesn’t and I guess we are waiting to find the answer to that.

we (her supporters) have taken a lot of heat for simply supporting her
