WHO WON LAST NIGHT’S DEBATE? DICK MORRIS TV: LUNCH ALERT!(Video)
Dick Morris ^ | 9/13/2011 | Dick Morris

Dear Friend,

In this video commentary, I discuss how last night’s debate totally changed the GOP primary. A front runner was deflated, a second tier candidate came roaring back, and Newt did his thing. What will the effect be?

I won’t vote for Perry.

His lack of conservative principles is shocking as at the same time he mouths platitudes to sooth socio-religous conservatives.

He is the kind of Republican two-party businessmen love; Perry can be bought.

Gov. Perry would be just more of the same kind of politics we’ve had for years, where it is difficult to see the difference between Republicans and Democrats.

I’m looking to vote for change this coming national election.

Bachmann is a total sellout to Romney. Bachmann and Romney and others all ganged up on Perry. Why didn't Bachmann attack Romney? She's sold out to him.

Her repetitious use of the phrase, "innocent, little, 12 year old girls" got old. She is a phony and in it for what she can get out of it.

There are a heck of a lot more important issues than this one but it seems it's the one she rehearsed the most.

The gang attacks on Perry was disgusting and it shows everyone on that stage last night preferred Romney.

What are you smoking? Perry had another commitment to keep before he could enter Iowa.

He did not manipulate the vote. There was a group that was advocating a write in for him but it wasn't Perry. BTW, Palin got less than 35 write-in votes and Perry got 800.

NO one ever said Ricky won Iowa.

If you're talking about the event the day AFTER the Straw Poll, many who were there said Bachmann was late to the event and did not stay to mingle with the people--Perry did, why are you criticizing Perry for that?

Parts of your post are downright false and other parts misleading.

[Bachmann] is a phony an in it for she can get out of it.

You can criticize Bachmann as you may, but about the last thing you should call her is a phony. She's as genuine as any Washington politician can be! I can see where the "innocent, little, 12 year old girls" phrase can be mistaken as the words of a bleeding heart liberal, but what she was doing was sticking up for the constitutional rights of American citizens to make personal medical decisions for themselves and their children, rather than the state exercising authority to dictate to them in this area.

My guess as to who Morris says won is whoever is paying Morris the most.

BS. She wasn't sticking up for "innocent little, 12 year old girls", she was attacking Perry and she would have used any issue she would have had to do it.

Why is it that she is now helping Romney? They're clearly in this together.

Anyone with a brain knows there are far bigger issues in this campaign than this one.

More than anything it exposed the rift that exists between the tea party and the big ticket RINOs despite their claims to be beloved tea party favorites.

Mark my words, this Merc claim is only the first of many that will be breaking over the next few months.

...helping Romney?

Can you please cite me chapter and verse as to how Bachmann and Romney are colluding? You can't merely say that the two are working hand in glove because Bachmann got into a spat with Perry.

I'm sure that Bachmann and Romney have sharp differences on a number issues, notably health care.

Were you paying attention? There was also info during the day they were going to gang up on Perry and it materialized. WHY? Why didn’t Bachmann go after Romney, on anything?

I agree...and my wife and I are NO FANS of Blitzer, but, he was better, more respectful and did not editorialize with his questions like Brian (”Please continue to invite me to the dinner parties on the upper west side”) Williams and whatshisname from Politico.

The Perry-Merck-Guardasil affair is nothing new. It's been out there in public for a couple of years now, particularly in libertarian and financial circles.

“Elections come down to the base, not the mushy middle, as the media tries to suggest.”

Elections come down to intensity which starts within the base and spreads to the squishy middle, the independants and sometimes flows over into the opposition’s centrist wing.

Igniting that intensity happens during the primary season. It should not be confused with the “pol de jour” popularity often so evident in the early stages. We’ve got a long way to go and things are still quite fluid. May the best woman (or man) win! Done correctly, we’ll all be the winners!

Oh gosh yes. Let’s have 12 year-olds pick the President because they know so much more. My BS meter is quite finely tuned and it’s pegged right now.

“The gang attacks on Perry was disgusting and it shows everyone on that stage last night preferred Romney.’

You sure post some doosies! This is a prime example.......

I think the only one on the stage that preferred Romney was.....Romney. The rest were for certain looking in the mirror and pointing at their “preferred candidate” not Romney...... LOLOLOLO

What you saw was a “king of the hill” free for all......just as it should be. Perry isn’t cemented there, and others are out to replace him on that slippery perch.

Lean back granny, pop some corn, and enjoy the ride......remember “It ain’t over till it’s over.” (Yogi)

Various networks and political groups sponsor these debates. They have exclusive rights. Fox will have exclusive rights to its own debate later this month in (IIRC) Orlando, co-sponsored with the FL GOP. Same with ABC/NBC, etc. I really don’t have much problem with exposing our candidates to audiences they would not otherwise attract.
