An interesting recent paper confirms that most gay men with one main partner for a given year also have concurrent casual sexual relationships.
The paper presents good data on the number of gay partnerships per year, confirming previous findings by others, but what is new are data about gay relationships per year when there is also a main partner.
Contrary to the stereotype, the typical number of sexual partners per year per person in the SSA community is not hundreds but about three. If there was no main partner the figure was five. The result for bisexuals was 2.5 partners. If a man who had sex with men had a main partner (68% of the sample), the typical number of casual partners in a given year was about 2. This means, as has been anecdotally clear for a long time, that the norm, even with a partner to whom one is committed above all others, is not sexual exclusivity. But this paper appears to be the first giving a high-quality, quantitative result.
The philosophical and cross-cultural ideal for marriage has traditionally been sexual exclusivity. But sexual exclusivity is not what is meant by gay committed relationships.
If a homosexual man says he committed to one man in any given year, it means he is typically having sexual relationships with three different men.
It is not easy to compare these figures directly with those for heterosexuals, because it is traditional to use a different basis in studies of heterosexuals - the percentage of people with concurrent partnerships in a given year.
However it would be a good rule of thumb that a gay man with a main partner has a few other relationships in a given year, but a heterosexual man would most commonly have no concurrent relationships.

This is reaching. Like it's a news bulletin men screw around, gay or straight. geez
Somehow seems appropriate that bisexuals would have 2.5 partners, instead of 2.0 or 3.0.
The “stereotype” is that gay males have hundreds of male sex partners in their lifetime; that is, if they don’t die fron AIDS first. The “stereotype” is also that AIDS is contracted as a result of having sex with hundreds of male partners. The fact is, many stereotypes are true, at least to a large extent, or they wouldn’t exist in the first place. Many gay men openly brag about their numerous sexual conquests and related STD’s, so unless they are lying, they fit right into the “stereotype” of the typical gay male.

In my opinion, to truely understand this issue you have to look at sexuality as a whole. The left-wing continually argue that you have to look at issues of sexuality as if their are hard-wired sets of people. Left-wingers do not want to even allow the suggestion that other forms of sexual corruption are more aligned with homosexual behavior.
The fact is that homosexuality is a corruption of natural human sexuality. In any honest study of those who engage in homosexual behavior you will find a very large overlap with all other forms of sexual corruption. Very sickening behaviors that are so disgusting that if more people were made aware the popularity of homsexuality would greatly diminish.
But of course the left-wing will try to point out any and all corrupt behavior among people who are engaged in heterosexual behavior in order to whitewash the sickening behavior of the so-called homosexual community.
The corruption though among people that can be considered heterosexual is also the result of the left-wing sexual revolution. Since the counter-culture the left-wing has promoted heavily the acceptance of corrupt behavior in regards to sexual behavior in society.
No one is perfect and sexual corruption may never be eliminated but it is the left-wing that promotes it and not conservatives. They must be held accountable for the culture they promote.
There are two means that are needed to defend this nation from a massive attack on our freedom. (By attacking the morality of society the left-wing is attacking our freedom)
1.) We must stand up to the attack on our ‘right’ to representation in regards to all issues of public decency.
The left-wing believe that perversion is a sacred right. Libertarians agree with them. They want to push the lie that laws that deter perverse sexual expression in public are un-American. In reality though, homosexual marraige and laws protecting the open expression of perversion in public are un-American and need to be fought against strongly.
2.) There needs to be a new conservative cultural revolution in America.
Traditional morality must be made to be popular again. We can not let the leftists shame those who are moral and we must instead make those who promote perversion be the ones who are shamed. Our children deserve this.
Ya think?
Very revealing.
Exhibit A: Seinfeld
West coast gay writer Richard Rodriguez observes that "Contraceptive couples are heterosexual gays." He's right about that: it's a rejection of our deep bodily meaning and function, focusing instead on sex-entertainment lite.
