The allegations about the former Alaska Governor, who has been pursued by the tabloid press since running for the Vice Presidency in 2008, were originally published in the National Enquirer, which quoted publishing sources close to the book.

So the Sarah Palin stalker has written his book!!!

And I think the keywords I added aptly describe what this "writer" has penned.

By the way, I want to thank Berlin Freeper for posting this and for remarking favorably on my choice of keywords. In hindsight, I should have used the term "slanderous article from the British paper" instead of "slanderous thread" since it might appear that I was upset with the poster. We've discussed this via FReepmail and BF understood from the get go my intent. (I did ping the Admin Moderator just to make sure I didn't cross the line by using too many "loaded" keywords).

Suffice it to say, these slanders from the "writer" have me fuming. And I think the blowback on this will be surprising and accrue to Sarah Palin's benefit.

If you’re 41 you came along after the culture had changed about cocaine. The crack epidemic in the ‘80s pushed it out of being, for a few years, a common middle-class dabble.

Whoops...forgot to ping you since I mentioned your name in the cited post. Like I said, I’m somewhat enraged at this wee hour of the day (here in Texas) and just plain forget my FR courtesy.

The only reason I never tried Coke as a kid was because it was too expensive. That was back during the days of leisure suits, gold chains and all that crap.

By the time crack had arrived on the scene, I was living in Japan, had developed Conservative values and wasn’t interested.

But if I had the money back then? Sure.

We all do things as kids we wouldn’t do later in life. This kind of crap annoys the hell out of me.

Sarah Palin’s only 8 years older than me, right?

I’m not so sure that cocaine culture was en vogue in Alaska....

In the 2000’s cocaine culture was rampant in DC.

I don’t blame anyone for what they did. I’m not JUDGING...I’m just saying I never did it.

I think that marijuana should be legalized ... but nothing else.

And... it won’t stop the drug wars....

Anyway.... I don’t have to have my colonoscopy yet.

Obama purchased both crack cocaine and powder for himself and Larry Sinclair on their date. Barack smoked the crack while Larry “serviced” him.

Since Rice admitted tonight that he and Palin did have a fling, maybe the coke thing is true too. We may have a difficult time finding pure as the driven, ok, bad metaphor, purely innocent candidates in the future that never did anything stupid in their younger years. Let’s not call it all slander but instead fight it with Who Cares? Palin is a good person and a great politician. She would be great for America and it matters little whether she dabbled in drugs or slept with men.

I say Big Whoop.

Cocaine in the middle and working classes in the early 80’s was like marijuana in the mid- to late-70’s: a common, casual, social drug to dabble in. But that really only lasted a few years before the legal and other implications led to it becoming less common, less socially acceptable and more risky.

Yes, 8 years matters in this circumstance. You missed a cultural moment.

I was struck by how the account of her snorting cocaine was “it was off a 55 gallon drum”. I know little about cocaine, but I somehow doubt that someone would take a very expensive drug and inhale it off a rusty old oil drum outdoors in the stiff sub-arctic wind. Didn’t they have mirrors in Alaska? Or coffee tables?

She would be running against the current POTUS who cooly bragged to “doing some blow” in college. His pupils look dilated in every photo I’ve seen of him since 2007.
This McGinnis is the creepy guy who moved in next door to the Palin’s & was peeping in 7 year old Peper’s window. He us a vicious political hack, & the Palin’s should sue him for libel.

I would never try it. Too dangerous, & too expensive- like flushing money down the toilet. Rather save it and buy a great pair of shoes, jewelry, or give it to charity.

These days it’s a no brainer. But then, back then, I had no brains.

If I remember correctly, Obama also admitted to dealing to pay for his Weed.

I would guess that Weed was pretty cheap back then, so he probably dealt Coke and took a little off the top. That was probably his first experience with Shared Sacrifice.

McGinnis angered Palin by moving in next door to her in Wasilla, Alaska, while he was researching the book. Palin’s camp has not yet given an official statement, but her husband Todd Palin said:

This is a man who has been relentlessly stalking my family to the point of moving in right next door to us to harass us and spy on us to satisfy his creepy obsession with my wife. His book is full of disgusting lies, innuendo, and smears. Even the New York Times called this book ‘dated, petty,’ and that it ‘chases caustic, unsubstantiated gossip.

Even ahead of the book’s release, the handling of the allegations has caused controversy in the US. McGinnis made a deal with Garry Trudeau, author of the popular Doonesbury cartoon, to include extracts in the comic strip. Some papers have decided not to run a strip containing the allegation that Palin once spent the night with basketball star Glyn Rice, saying that it is currently unsubstantiated. Another strip which many declined to run claims “Palin isn’t comfortable in the presence of dark skinned people”.

McGinnis’s claims are certainly headline-grabbing, but it is difficult to judge their veracity. A New York Times blog points out that “many episodes cited in the book relied on unnamed sources or second- or third-hand accounts”.

Todd Palin Slams Joe McGinniss

Todd Palin released a statement late Wednesday condemning claims author Joe McGinniss makes about former Alaska governor Sarah Palin in his upcoming book, “The Rogue: Searching for the Real Sarah Palin.”

“This is a man who has been relentlessly stalking my family to the point of moving in right next door to us to harass us and spy on us to satisfy his creepy obsession with my wife,” Todd Palin said via SarahPAC’s Rebecca Mansour. “His book is full of disgusting lies, innuendo, and smears. Even The New York Times called this book ‘dated, petty,’ and that it ‘chases caustic, unsubstantiated gossip.”

In his book, McGinniss claims that Palin used cocaine, had a one night stand with retired NBA player Glen Rice, and engaged in an extramarital affair.

Oddly enough, the more they demonize her. The more people relate to her.

They try to shame her for what's happening in most Americans lives today.

I'm sick of them forcing their "morals" (LOL) upon US!

“Since Rice admitted tonight that he and Palin did have a fling,:

Where was this? I just did a search and all I can find is that mcguinness says it happened, and everyone else is taking his word for it except the New York Times which actually reviewed the book. There was no confirmation by Rice in the book.

I think Rice gave vague answers to McGuinness' questions and McGuiness took that as yes that he did have a fling with Palin. At least that is the impression I got from the NY Times article.

McGuinness is a real POS. Even the MSM thinks he is loathsome.

“taking” cocaine? From whom did she take it? I’ll take arcane diction for $1000, Alex!

Exactly. Even if it was true, it happened a long time ago. It is really amazing how low people will go to throw dirt at someone.

“She (allegedly) took cocaine and reportedly slept with black men?”

I believe you have her confused with Obama. He admitted to using cocaine and allegedly slept with black me.

The words Rice used in the book were “a sweetheart” and “respectful”. Does that sound anywhere close to a one night stand? Or even remotely sexual?
She was the sports journalist for a local station at that time. It SOUNDS like she might have interviewed him and was nice and respectful to him. mcguinness then spun it to ask if maybe it seemed as though it wouldn’t have bothered her to have sex with a black man...even though the rap was she was a racist.
This is one sick b@st@rd.
