The Pac-12 appears to be working out the final details of a deal that would bring Texas, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Texas Tech to the conference, sources close to the situation told Hookem.com and the American-Statesman on Sunday morning.

Without the Tex/Ok school on the board anymore most are saying it's Uconn and Rutgers next to fill out the ACC 16. Looks like it's lining up to be the nation's basketball conference. ND still being mentioned but don't think it will happen. It still looks like they will have to find a conference sooner than later.
This whole thing seems a bit like Socialism...To earn a little bit more money for themselves the University creates the Longhorn Network in order to have some cash that will not have to share with those poorer schools
The Hypocrisy is breath taking. In the UT classroom they push Marxism and Communism as the answer to all of life's problems. When it comes to their money though - every man for themselves: Greed is Good.
Kansas needing assistance? LOL, better check that. They are usually in the black regardless of their football costs their basketball program provides alot of green to the school.
Folks around Oklahoma State and Tulsa might argue that point. They had a rain-delayed kickoff at 12:30 am Sunday morning. Game was supposed to start at 9 pm CST.
I'm not a fan of these super conferences, but perhaps they will increase more competition between them.
Schools will have to find a Conference in order to fill the BCS requirements, without being in one, your chances of bowl games and recognition decrease.
Not much communism spoken at the UT Business School.
And all the other schools have their hand out to receive money from the Longhorns.
Socialism would be if the NCAA regulates that all money earned would be distributed equally to all FBS teams. I think you have to look at conferences as corporations and teams as divisions inside the corporation. You pool resources to make your conference more competitive, improve your conference national standing which will in theory increase revenue across the board. Since most conference have some sort of revenue sharing you will notice that there are still alot of haves and have nots, capitalism will always work itself out as long as there is no centralized over bearing governmental entity forcing some sort of feel communal living standards that all AD’s have to abide by.

Kansas Basketball is peanuts.
UT Football brings in more cash than any other program in the country.
Kansas basketball could be funded by UT Football soda pop sales.
Conference schools share revenue and UT brings in the most money in the country.

What you just said does not validate or make your original statement true. Kansas doesn’t need kickbacks to stay afloat. You are proving TU’s arrogance here.
As Trajan says..go independent then. If super conferences come, why would any team worth there salt bother to schedule you guys? After all the next logical step is a play off, and I could see these conferences barring independents from participating.

Sounds like a great move.
The University gets to keep the Longhorn Network, but may have to kick some money to lesser teams in the Pac 16.
And Texas, OU, OSU, etc will get to keep the Aggies 22 million dollars for quitting the Big 12.

Longhorns are making a huge mistake. Calif is dead, in Real Estate, economy & football. Most decent playes now go NW. The PAC is done. If Texas wants to play real football, they’ll go to the SEC & keep the Thanksgiving game alive. As a Longhorn fan in A&M territory, I can definitely see 5 Star Texas recruits going to A&M to play in the SEC.
Love to see what the SEC is going to do now. Doesn't look like any ACC teams are going anywhere soon.

I went to sleep waiting for this game and when I woke up at 2:30 AM they had just started the second half.
The idea of central time zone teams joining conferences on the west coast is craziness. When will the girl’s volleyball team ever go to class when they are coming back from Pullman, Washington?
I also hate the idea of giving up all the traditional rivalries. College sports has prostituted itself for the all might dollar. The old argument that a college football playoff would destroy traditional rivalries has been turned into destroy the traditional rivalries to make the money.
It is disgusting.
Listen, no offense. I live in Texas in A&M territory. Texas joining the SEC & (hopefully) surviving & winning the division would do WAY WAY more for the Longhorn Network than joining the losers in the PAC 10. Just MO. Plus they’d lose all those 4 & 5 Star recruits to A&M.
Hey, wouldn’t it be great to play a bunch of losers in Oregon or Idaho all year & than have a lucky final game & win the National Title?
