Well FRiends...the UARS, according to NASA this morning, is now supposed to come down between 0000 and 0400 UTC, or between 5pm and 9pm Pacific time.
According to 'Orbitron', during that time frame UARS will cross the US three times, once over the Eastern Seaboard (Entering near the Louisiana/Mississippi border, up over the Appalachians, and exiting along the US/Canada border near upstate New York) , once across the Midwest (on a line from AZ/NM border up to the ND/MN border), and finally crossing the Pacific Northwest (entering off the Oregon coast, crossing between Portland and Seattle, and exiting the US around northern Idaho).
They also did say there's a possibility it could stay aloft a little longer past the current re-entry time frame. If it does, then no US territory will be in danger.
Wonder if we’ll be able to see it burning up.
My pick for touchdown is still Roswell.
If it comes down over US territory, you couldn’t miss it. The times it’s scheduled to be over the US will all be near or after sunset, depending on where you are. It’s supposed to make quite a light show when it comes down. If it’s announced that it will come down near a populated area, you can bet some one (probably more than a few people) will be out there with a video camera.
I’m hoping along the US/Mexican border and we finally get a fence.
As usual for most astronomical events, Ohio is socked in
and will be for the next couple of days.

I wonder how many people actually realize that Idaho borders on Canada? Somebody’s going to try to correct that, lol.

It’s as big as a bus and weighs 6 tons. It’s all going to burn up supposedly? I’d rather not even see it if it means possible chunks falling in my area!
