Got it.

My intent is to look for warning signs of a further Obama meltdown. If you can give us a few things to look for we will watch for them.

Damn straight that the hostile tabloid MSM won’t be looking for any warning signs!

No problem FRiend.
There are a few “tells” with predictable explanations.
First, few can imagine the psychic energy it takes to maintain the false self-images. Thus, hair-trigger behavior is the norm. In fact, NPD (N personality disorder) is often found with “co-morbidities” such as Histrionic Personality Disorder...alky/drug abuse...sexual deviance, etc... Realize too, that much of what is known @ NPD is derived from their VICTIMS, since the NPD themselves “have no problems”.

Their greatest fear is abandonment (imho). Because then they must search for another source of narcissistic “supply”; fawning adoration from various rumpswabs will do for a time, but on an individual level, supply is sought from elegant suppliers, that is; those with the character qualities (empathy, compassion, and so forth) that they LACK.
The predictable reaction to loss of supply is rage.

And we see this, don’t we? His rhetoric of late is increasingly unhinged. PS, NPD’s are usually not very guarded in their reactions. He must be giving his handlers fits! (I heard his teleprompter threatened a strike)

But rage? Indeed. The manchild on display resembles nothing but a petulant pre-pubescent boy, ramping up the angst and anger amongst his true believers. It’s pathetic, really. NPD’s are really *not that smart*, (remember, their energies are devoted to maintaining the facade, NOT growing as a person, not responding in healthy ways to life’s challenges and vicissitudes). In fact, it can be high sport to ‘tease out’ such loss-of-control demonstrations with carefully crafted barbs and ridicule; “I thought you were smarter than that, what happened?” and such.

So, I’d say, look for the increase of rage. He’s been falling back on his class and race-warfare platitudes for quite some time now. His union goon muppets are more than happy to oblige as public proxies for now.

Look for an increase of rage. As his mask falls off, no effort will be spared to uphold it.

OH! Ridicule is good. Very good. Nothing gets the NPD’s goat as much as ridicule.

LOL! All he ever DOES is complain. Our whiner-in-chief.

Well, that and wedge 82 games of golf into his oh so busy schedule.

Wow! Thank you so much.

Yours is a field I know nothing about. Thanks.

You mentioned rage, and I remembered when Nixon was walking outside in the sunshine, and he suddenly kicks the aide walking beside him very hard in the butt. Yeah, I’ll watch for rage, as Obama continues to meltdown.

As I mentioned in my first post on this thread, I have had the impression for about a year that Obama has been making all of his speeches to himself. Have you noticed that too?

Thanks for the tip on ridicule because, in all humility, ridicule is one of my MANY strong suits.

It’s worth noting that he chose to identify with the parent who abandoned him and rejects identification with the parent and grandparents who at least stuck around and cared for him.

Good point - I never really thought about it. It may be the child reaching for the parent he needed the most and knew the least (abandonment). Even if his grandparents were outstanding, as I understand it a boy always retains a ‘need’ to be valued by his own dad and basically fantasizes about receiving dad’s approval or attention.

Now that’s a VERY good point, doc...see, it is well known that an “interruption” of normal male-bonding (son to father) is a “tell” common to (male) homosexuality, as well as tying in to NPD co-morbidities.

I happened across some old notes I had copied while studying this, and thought I’d paste some here. Sorry I can’t remember the source, it’s been awhile...

As far as I’m concerned, we could spin this thread off into its OWN study, or analysis...for ONE, because it might be helpful in predicting bamalamadingdong’s direction or response (as Graewoulf indicated), and TWO, because so little is really known @ the disorder.

(NB: please take Sam Vanknin’s stuff with a huge barrel of salt! Some of it is good...check out his ‘divorcing a N’ schtick. He’s got the subtle ridicule DOWN! but... He NEEDS to be “supplied” with adulation as the net’s leading expert, and is ON PURPOSE manipulative, lying, misleading, and generally FOS!)

Anyway, here are some of the notes: (some could actually be lifted from sam, haha)

The personality disordered are full of negative emotions, with aggression and its transmutations, hatred and pathological envy. They are constantly seething with rage, jealousy, and other corroding sentiments. Unable to release these emotions (personality disorders are defense mechanisms against “forbidden” feelings) – they split them, project them and force others to behave in a way which legitimizes and rationalizes this overwhelming negativity. “No wonder I hate everyone – look what people repeatedly did to me.” The personality disordered are doomed to incur self-inflicted injuries. They generate the very hate that legitimizes their hatred, which fosters their social ex-communication.”
What is a narcissist? Any time you find yourself living inside that classic New Yorker cartoon in which two people are dining together and one says to the other, “Well, enough about me. Let’s hear what you have to say about me,” your narcissism alert bells should be ringing. A friend of mine explained the credo of the narcissist as follows: “I’m the piece of shit the world revolves around.”

I have a bunch more...but will desist for the tired eyes and minds for now :)
Cheers!

Our floors are cold here in Massachusetts during the winter. Early in the morning, it’s quite chilly in the house.

That's why New England makes the best slippers! :-)

The last Presidential meltdown was the sad spectacle of Nixon. Now we are seeing a similar pattern with Obama. For the good of the Nation and his family, it is time for Obama to resign.

Except Nixon had the good sense to accept reality when it was staring him in the face. I don't think Obama even knows what reality is.

OH! Ridicule is good. Very good. Nothing gets the NPD’s goat as much as ridicule.

My whole family was laughing at Rush's Monday show, when he said this:

I don't know when the next Obama town hall is, but I have the question. If any of you happen to know and happen to be planning on going to the next Obama town hall, I got a question that you can ask him.

"Mr. President, was it fair that Jewish janitors had to build the intercontinental railroad from the 57 states all the way to the country that speaks Austrian? Was it fair that the Jewish janitors had to build it? Is that not a sign of the systemic racism and bigotry that's always existed in this country, that Jewish janitors had to build the intercontinental railroad?"

One of the cliche’s I live by is that it’s not a disorder if it gets you through the day. It looks like you’re describing a coping mechanism that gets him through the day, and he functions fairly well.

The problems may come when his coping mechanisms are thwarted.

” - - - Except Nixon had the good sense to accept reality - - - “

Right you are, COBOL !

Nixon had Senator Goldwater who told Nixon that it was time for him to go, and Obama has Senator Reid-in-the-wind. ( NO doubt how that will turn out ).

Another major difference is that Obama is a more charming con-artist than Nixon was. Nixon just looked like a tricky guy. The Media was ALWAYS on Nixon’s case, where as The Media adores their guy from gangsta streets of Chicago.

That’s really funny!
I can’t TELL you the number of times I’ve wished our conservatives would USE FR...I mean, were I a campaign-manager, I’d scour the threads, lifting the hilarious stuff here for ‘my guy’.
Series, there’s no better place for finding biting ridicule of liberals, & their stupid utopian grandiosities and utterances.

PS
Anyone notice the parallels btwn NPD and liberalism-in-general?
Yeppers. It’s RIGHT THERE!
So bring it on FReepers!
Mocking ridicule is really a great antidote to these evil, malicious, and dangerous a$$clowns...

Helps my blood pressure too :)

Put me on your PING list when you start your own thread. I want to learn all I can about this topic. I am amazed that we have such a sorry vetting system for candidates for public office. I’m sure Obama has been like this most of his adult life.

This is scary stuff to me to have a nut-case as President giving speeches to himself as he did recently to the Congressional Black Caucus. I remember Nixon’s meltdown all to well.

doc, I really like your points...very thought-provoking stuff.

I’m not quite on board with the ‘getting through the day’-thing, because, well, Hitler & his murderous goons ‘got through the day’ for awhile...quite swimmingly, in fact.
But your point brings up another interesting thing.
N’s *usually* operate and function at level below sociopaths, who are in turn just below outright psychopaths. Not to quibble over definitions, it’s just that the damage N’s inflict USUALLY lie *just under the radar*.

Their behavior is confusing and hard to define exactly, and much of it - pretty much ALL of it IS actually “coping behavior”...why?...because lacking empathy, they learn to “mirror” emotions, so as not to stick out too much in social situations, or “society”.
There’s no “there” there, remember?
One doc described the differential diagnosis btwn NPD & B(orderline)PD ; “NPD feels this way, and BPD feels that way.”
iow, we’re all pretty much flying by the seat of our pants, haha, I know you’d get a kick out of that!
All I want to do is contribute to the knowledge base, and really? how the heck could I ever diagnose the dingdong? It’s enough to recognize patterns for predictive purposes.
As far as I’m concerned, it’s enough to know “he’s broken” (Jim!)

Their exterior mask, their assumed persona is more often than not! quite charming...
and truly, it’s a “trust your gut” thing. (see: “The Gift of Fear” - excellent! “People of the Lie” is good too!)

It’s when the mask slips (thwarted coping mechs), that you glimpse ‘who they really are’...and more often than not - what you’ll see is rage.
bamalama exhibits all of these patterns...it gets more and more *dramatic* too (HPD?)...
just sayin.

Mmmm...not sure how to do the pinglist thingy...but if a few more express interest, we could give it a whirl...

“I am amazed that we have such a sorry vetting system for candidates for public office.”
“We” as conservatives, I believe should get more ‘up’ on the primaries. My current project is to become better informed and more involved on that side of things. We “vet” through the primaries is my thinking anyway...

As for vetting the dingdong, that’s a hoot! The guy is completely manufactured. Our Potemkin President. He’s a cypher, a construct, a plant. He is the “we” the slobberers “have been waiting for”. (Don’t get me started lol!)

“I’m sure Obama has been like this most of his adult life.”
Sigh. Yes. His use of streetslang wid da bros gives a clue as to the age he “arrested”...I’m thinking somewhere btwn 10-13.
And yes, it IS scary stuff.
It would be pathetic and (more) laughable, if he didn’t do so much dam damage.

Look, remember his “joke” about the STATE ON FIRE?
NO EMPATHY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sometimes it’s really hard not to shake with rage myself. What a hateful thing to say. Pisses me off. I am right near the fires. Smelled the smoke by God! Just flew over the burnscar that was Bastrop, contributed money and material to help those poor folk out!
How DARE he say that!
PLEASE PLEASE! Will one of the so-called conservative candidates call him out and DENOUNCE HIM FOR THIS???
Lord help me!
