From what we can gather, according to eye witness testimony, St. Louis PD has barricaded the Bank of America building and is refusing customer access to deposits.
Eye witness account:
They would not let me get past that barricade, where those three guys are. I talked to the liutenant of the St. Louis Police Department and he said they [customers?] dont have a legal right but he was going to try to work out something, a symbolic gesture where eight people to pull out their money, I being one of them.
He came back later and said they [BofA] will not go along with that. You will have to withdraw your money online.

Perk Street actually gives me money for using the debit card.
Whut?
Straight to the federal courthouse on this one. Ridiculous.
“There are retail outlets such as Walmart that will allow you to get Cash Back if you use your debit card for any size purchase.”
Yes, but that’s not “on line”.
Sen. Dick Durbin of Illinois, said Bank of America .. customers who don’t want to pay a new $5 monthly debit card fee should “vote with their feet” and find a financial institution that won’t charge them for accessing their accounts, the Chicago Tribune reports. “Get the heck out of that bank,” Durbin said Monday on the Senate floor. “Find yourself a bank or credit union that wont gouge you for $5 a month. ... What Bank of America has done is an outrage.”
“Um...their website has been down for over 3 days.”
So it was BS.
I got You will have to withdraw your money online. from the Opening Post excerpt.
wonder why the accompanying video wouldn’t play-—when you click on it it says This Video is private.
But it is true about something going on at B of A online, since this newest controvery. For the first and ONLY time at the ATM connected with my branch, it wouldn’t accept a check for deposit-—(had to go inside and fill out a slip)
and every time I’ve accessed my account online, it starts with a screen telling you their system is operating slowly right now, so maybe check later, or continue on and take your chances. I took my chances and it was OK.
It would be surprising if a SWAT team were called for a mere eight people showing up, presumably to withdraw their money. Don’t know what to make of this post, esp. w/o an actual video. If it gets corroborated on the radio by Hannity or Levin, then I’ll believe it.
My comment at the site:
Look, make the video public, otherwise it just a lame blog trying to get hits

You will have to withdraw your money online.
How, pray tell, do you do that? You may be able to transfer it somewhere else but they can't send you cash through your computer terminal.
This is the kind of trash that COULD start a run on many banks. It’s insane how fast bad info can travel.
Noticing this has been moved from News/Activism to
Cheese/Moose/Sister.
Ben Bernanke drops it from a helicopter. Or something...
What a Dick...that Durbin.
Indy Mac and Chucky come to mind?
When Statists speak, they want to ruin enterprises, even when it’s their fault.
Progressives cannot tell the truth, it’s not in their Communist nature.
Could be many reasons why if it is a single branch involved, the most likely scenarios that the branch was robbed and the cops are simply turning folks away without telling or, given it is swat, that some fool listened to Durban and is in there with hostages demanding to see Obama or something. Could also be that a rent-a-mob entered the bank with intent to cause a scene about closing their accounts. I’ll pass on the video.
Hi Nachum,
I know you’re posting in earnest, but this post is 100% factually incorrect. I hope you will contact the admins to have this post pulled.

Bank of America forbids withdrawal-of-money protest
Erich Vieth | August 13, 2011 | 1 Comment
On Friday, August 12, 2011, about 50 members of Missourians Organizing for Reform and Empowerment (MORE) protested the activities of Bank of America at the downtown branch of the bank in St. Louis , Missouri.
Many of the protesters have been longtime customers of Bank of America, and they intended to withdraw all of their money from Bank of America as part of their protest. Thus, the protestors were taking a page from Arianna Huffington, who initiated a Move Your Money campaign back in 2009.
Hackers, protestors and scurrilous major Democratic politicians are all targeting BoA at this time.
While I’m sure that the protestors would LOVE to see this kind of confrontation, the local St Louis CBS news radio currently has nothing about such a thing happening.
It's like the Genovese family slandering the Columbo family. Which gang of thugs do you prefer to have shaking you down?
1-Savings should be in Federal Credit Unions, not Banks.
2-Be prepared to have auto-deposits re-routed, quickly.
3-Use on-line Bill pay to drain checking account, even if it creates a credit situation with your Credit Card accounts at other banks.(at least you can still spend it!)
Better let this website know too
So, I don't know what web site is down, but it's not the one serving my online banking
BoA offers free online banking and free checks to its military banking customers, they have branches throughout the city, staffed by efficient courteous people who live in my community. ATM are plentiful and easy to use. I am grateful for the great service they provide to me. If I didn't like their ATM fee I'd just go elsewhere. That is the free market. I would NOT threaten to ruin or make mobs run on the bank like that seditious bass turd Durbin, over fees caused by his intervention into the free market
