I think it was Pete Townsend who clobbered (with his Strat) some moron who charged him on-stage. Woodstock, wasn't it?
See the tagline. I'm telling you, anyone who screws with a guitar player is in for a whole new form of enlightenment.

Man: A guy broke in my house and I hit him with my guitar.
911: Is he down?
Man: Yes, E flat.

I hope it was a Gibson! If you're buying a guitar for self-defense, I'd suggest an older Gibson Les Paul. Twelve-pounders are common and ones tipping the scales at slightly over thirteen pounds have been reported.
Those eight-and-half pound ash body Fender Stratocasters are for wimps. And don't get me started on the alder body Strats. May as well carry a ukulele.

My Weapon Of Choice
I actually had to use this once, in a South Florida Park, against four Yutes who were armed with baseball bats. I won. (see my user name and avatar!)
The extra long bolt on Two Octave neck provides excellent balance for a long, swift swing, perfectly balanced by the solid hardwood counterweight. The extra heavy strings and solid stainless steel bridge and pickups have sharp pointy edges and are an added bonus.
My Les Paul doesn't leave the house and is designated "Music Only",
God Bless America!
