Improve-Education.org’s broader goal is to be a strategic ally to every person and group trying to make sure young Americans don’t grow up to be ignorant Americans. “I’m especially rooting for charter schools and homeschooling,” Price says. “We need more diversity in education and more local control.”

Demand that public schools be abolished in favor of private schools.

The educational establishment continues to ram through one-size-fits all programs that work GREAT in theory and in teachers’ professional developments (where everyone asked to try it out has a college degree!) — but NEVER quite work as promised in the classrooms. OOOPPPS!
These theories are hatched in ivory towers by theoreticians who would NEVER deign to set foot on a modern high school campus! Yet, the government continues to buy these stupid programs and demand we implement them — millions of dollars for yet another failure! (as I explained with the Language! program).
No one ever asks us teachers, of course, as to what does/doesn’t work.
I have been through MANY of these bogus programs that once and for all promise to close the achievement gap!! According to the Cato Institute, these failed programs have cost American taxpayers 1.85 trillion dollars since 1965.
AND, worst of all, no one is ever held responsible for these boondoggles.
