Prediction: Obama/Clinton vs. Romney/Haley in 2012

Posted on 10/09/2011 4:32:20 PM PDT by CondoleezzaProtege

Despite what some may think, Hillary would help bring some momentum back to Obama. She is popular with independents, blue-dog Dems, and would mobilize the female vote. If Hillary refuses, then he may pick someone like Senator Kristen Gillibrand. (The holder of Clinton's former Senate seat in NY.)

If Romney were smart, he would seriously consider Governor Nikki Haley of South Carolina as his runningmate. (If she agreed to it.)

She has conservative, Tea-Party credentials and a previous Palin endorsement under her belt. I think she is impressive, but obviously nowhere near the energizer and "spark-filled," visionary person Governor Palin is.

I admire Haley, but am not her biggest fan. Something about Haley seems too "safe" to me. She is willing to tow the conservative line, but she's also very careful about not stepping on the machine's toes. She's also very deliberate about laying the groundwork for her political future. Hence why she never went out of her way to come to Palin's defense or tout her praises until AFTER Palin made the decision not to run in 2012. -- Hence why Romney would not mind working with Haley to bring his "less liberal than Obama, but still crony-driven agenda" forward.

I predict I’ll not vote for Romney no matter what letter floats behind his name. I abjectly refuse to give liberals more power in Washington DC.

if Romney wins the nomination and he picks some milque-toast RINO wuss for VP, he’ll lose the general election. The only reason McCain didn’t suffer a McGovernesque wuppin was Sarah Palin.

I feel the same way. I thought she would see the state of the country and understand that it needed her. Not a whole lot of optimism, but we have to keep on moving forward.

Like Wendell Wilkie said..

“If any one man is indispensible, than none of us is free”

he said that about FDR. But it could be applied to any person in the United States ! including the people in the teachers union.

I hated to see Sarah drop out, but I do believe it is best for her.

Things were getting downright dirty.

As for Romney, there is no one alive that can make him palatable to me.

Of course I would vote for Charles manson before I would vote for Obama, but it will take more than holding my nose, I might have to take a barf bag to the polls with me.

I think a Romney nomination makes a Tea Party candidate likely.

Then we get an outcome similar to 1992:

Baraq 42
Mitty 37
Tea 21

At this point defeating Mitty is the key to defeating Baraq.
Obama loses ANY two way matchup in my view. His 42% doesn’t hardly increase in a 2-way race.

what if he picks Nikki Haley, who identifies as Tea Party-sided and Evangelical?

Now there’s a match made in hell. They hate each other like rabid dogs.

I don’t buy it. Bummer didn’t pick her the 1st time because he feared for his life! Dumb ol’ Biden is his safety net.

“Still feeling deep loss over Palin’s decision.”

Don’t let it cloud your judgement. I said it that would happen. I was shouted down in fits of hate and panic. It was quite unpleasant. So where are the apologies? Nowhere, of course!

If Romney wins the nomination, and Obama is the Dem candidate. I will vote for Mitt without reservation. Heck, I’ll campaign for him.

Romney will not win the nomination. Try Caine/Rubio for the slaughter. NO MORE RHINOS. Stop settling for what the MSM wants you to buy

We’re not apologizing because we know it was a very last minute change-of-heart decision on Palin’s part. It’s quite clear she wanted to run and was laying the groundwork (however unconventional) for doing so— until a recent turn of events and private reasons we won’t ever fully know...(probably some knowledge of GOP backroom issues we won’t be informed of for obvious reasons.)

I abjectly refuse to give liberals more power in Washington DC.

So I assume you consider Romney more left than Obama, cause that's exactly who'll we get if we don't get behind whoever is our nominee.

No, we just can’t predict God’s plans. Palin was poised, prepped, and ready for action—but GOD did not hit the “go” button. It was ultimately HIS doing in the end, not hers.

And as for Obama/Clinton feud —> let’s just say desperate times call for desperate measures...
