Yes, there is a kerning game. My score was 76. Try it. Even if you don't know what kerning is, it's still kind of fun.
I went there to try it , but it doesn’t support my browser.
That’s a really kerny game!
92
I tried, but couldn’t get my beeber to register.
83 on first attempt.
Got perfect 100s on everything but the seriffed fonts. Skewed my score down to 73.
I sought the serif....
Cool. 88.
I did very well (100 on a number of the tests), which shows (a) I’ve always loved fonts, (b) I’m weird, and (c) I really don’t want to do the next task I have to do today and am doing my best to avoid it.
The guy who developed this does some interesting work. Looks like he’s putting together neat projects in the future and has done cool, amusing things in the past.
90. Kind of embarrassing since that is what I do for a living. But then some of their type placement was arbitrary. For type that large I generally prefer a little tighter set than the game allows for (especially since you can’t move the first or last letters.
I do that for a living as well.
.....Internet Explorer 9.
How many self-absorbed geeks have sprung for that? 3? I wouldn’t touch IE9 with somebody else’s ten-foot pole! I’d say that about 2015 they’ll have the bugs worked out well enough that I’ll take a shy at it.
Sorry Pal. If you can’t support platforms that real ordinary working people use; I can live without your game!
Of course, the humans first have to learn kerning before they can teach the machines to kern ...
Anybody try the game on an iPad?
Mary Mapes & Dan Rather both have high scores.
We’re not pals.
