Good morning gardeners. We have had the first frost of Fall this morning in East Central Mississippi. It will warm up into the 70s the next few days and possibly even up to 80s by Tuesday. Not much gardening will be going on for me until next Spring.

I hope all your Fall gardens prosper.

If you are a gardener or you are just starting out and are in need of advice or just encouragement please feel free to join in and enjoy the friendly discussion. Our Freeper community is full of gardeners, each with varying interests and skill levels from Master Gardener to novice.

Nah That is a postcard from the days of “Penny Postcards”. Somebody sent me a lik where you can look up your state and your community and see pictures of old postcards.. I don’t think this one is that old. Looks like the 30s- 40s to me.

Look up your state, county, town...

Hey thanks for the link

Weidman's Restaurant - Down Town Meridian. Since 1870

Had the best Black Bottom Pie I have ever eaten at this place. The walls are full of hundreds of pictures of famous people from actors to politicians who have visited and eaten there.

East Mississippi Insane Hospital - If it were still open I might be there. It has been closed for many, many years and the buildings are used as dorm rooms for out of town students at the local Community College.

Mmmmm-mmm-mm: that pie looks delish!

They sure didn’t mince words on their titles in those days, did they? No “Meridian Sanatoriam for the Challenged”. LOL

I have 4 chairs made by this company. You have seen those chairs in 100s of movies, usually used as courtroom, or jury, chairs. I bought mine from a closed bank in Milwaukee where they had been boadroom chairs.

There you go. That one looks like walnut. Mine are oak. Those are the most comfortable chairs.

How’d you know what I was talking about? Do you have one of those chairs? Or, was my description enough to find them on the Web?

The name of the company was on the photo - I just looked it up on the web.

I collect photo post cards of towns and places in Humboldt County Ca and have over 3,000. It has become obsessive and excessive...
