Stockton Homeowner Wants Police To Fix Trashed House(SWAT hits wrong house)

STOCKTON (CBS13) — The San Jose Police Department stormed into a Stockton home searching for an accused killer, but they left without him, and left behind a complete mess.

“I feel like a war was taken on here, and we lost,” homeowner Joann Rice told CBS13.

Almost all of the windows are smashed in, there are holes in the wall, and there’s a layer of tear gas in the air so thick breathing it in makes you cough.

That is the home Rice came back to after the San Jose police held a fruitless 12-hour search on Saturday for Steve Ruiz, the man accused of killing a Hells Angels member at a funeral.

“He wasn’t here, he was never here and he wasn’t in the house,” she said.

Rice said her daughter was an acquaintance of Ruiz, nothing more.

“When she opened the house at 7 in the morning she asked them to come in, all they kept saying is, ‘Are you in danger? Are you in danger for your life?’ She kept saying, ‘No, my kids are in here, you can come in here if you like,’” Rice said.

Rice says police didn’t listen. They grabbed her daughter and threw her in a police car for four hours and then into a jail cell.

While police shot tear gas into the home, a mother dog and her three puppies were still inside the house.

“They told her if there was anything left in that house, it’s dead,” she said. “We were hysterical and thought the puppies were dead, the other dog was dead.”

The dogs, fortunately, are in good condition. The house isn’t.

CBS13 made several calls to the San Jose Police Department, but didn’t get a call back.

“We want it fixed,” Rice said. “Of course I’m calling my insurance, but San Jose has to pay for this, there is no reason why they shouldn’t.”

Rice said the family doesn’t know if they’ll ever be able to live in the house again.

I don't see that here like I do in this state. Here I see the vocal numbers in the : “I don't trust the gubment” types just like you, you Tea Party terrorist :)

Last week they rolled out speed enforcement fine-only cameras in central Maryland (the county South West of Baltimore City+ County) in two white mobile vans and they put up about 20 “Speed Limit Enforced by Cameras” fixed signs that they are supposed to cover. So far I have not seen any from my car only this one on a high quality youtube video. Check it out:

That's a great comment on one side of the issue. On the philosophical level I agree that if you make a mistake, you pay the price, even if if you are armed to the teeth and have good intentions.

I raised three kids, know hundreds more, and none of them have been caught up in a net seeking an accused killer involved with the Hells Angels.

I wonder why not?

In stockton, there is at least one murder a day; people gravitate to stockton from the entire SF bay area, occasionally as victims, mostly as perps. And here's the funny thing.
Without exception, the families of the victims claim tearfully that they were great kids, an "angel," if you'll pardon the expression.

And I sure hope that if they DO, they don't light it.

But if they light it, I hope they don't slide it underneath that roadside camera van.

But if they DID something illegal like that, I hope that the resulting effin' explosion doesn't hurt anybody when the debris goes flying.

The San Joaquin Supervisors and the Stockton City Council see themselves exclusively as welfare support for illegals and other societal parasites.

It seems to me that if you want to stop this sort of thing then you should make the individual team members personally liable for any damages. If they knew they would be out of pocket they would be real careful when they enter the house.
