GOOD MILITARY MONDAY TO AMYS PLACE!
The Soldiers Code
1) I am an American fighting man. I serve in the forces which guard my country and our way of life. I am prepared to give my life in their defense.
2) I will never surrender of my own free will. If in command, I will never surrender my men while they still have the means to resist.
3) If I am captured, I will continue to resist by all means available. I will make every effort to escape and aid others to escape. I will accept neither parole nor special favors from the enemy.
4) If I become a prisoner of war, I will keep faith with my fellow prisoners. I will give no information or take part in any action which might be harmful to my comrades. If I am senior, I will take command. If not, I will obey the lawful orders of those appointed over me, and will back them up in every way.
5) When questioned, should I become a prisoner of war, I am bound to give only name, rank, service number, and date of birth. I will evade answering further questions to the utmost of my ability. I will make no oral or written statements disloyal to my country and its allies, or harmful to their cause.
6) I will never forget that I am an American fighting man, responsible for my actions, and dedicated to the principles which made my country free. I will trust in my God and in the United States of America.
President Dwight D. Eisenhower, August, 1955.

Sun was AWOL today. I hate this cold weather.
To: ConorMacNessa
Don’t worry about it. FR is still running slow....takes so long for a post to go through and sometimes we push post again. Its not quite as bad as yesterday......terrible!
Thanks for your Military Monday post, Conor, and hope your week has started off well! Its been overcast and finally rained this afternoon, but the temps are still good. I look for this rain to cool everything down though. I’m thankful for every nice day I have here ‘cause I know bad weather will soon come!

Hi Jaycee - it's been unseasonably warm here the last week or so. But it won't be long before Winter bares its fangs!

Honoring Your Parents
November 29, 2011
My dad recently turned 90 years old and his physical capabilities are fading. He can still move around with his walker, but he needs someone to cook his meals and help him with other tasks.
My older brother Steve and his wife Judy lived close to him, so they decided to move in with Dad to care for him. Wanting to help in some way, my wife and I flew across the country to help out a bit by watching Dad while my brother and his wife had some time away together. We enjoyed our time with my father and were glad to ease Steve and Judys loadeven if it was only for a few days.
The Bible says to honor your father and mother (Eph. 6:2). One New Testament commentary says that to honor someone is to treat him with the deference, respect, reverence, kindness, courtesy, and obedience which his station in life . . . demands.
For young children, this means obeying parents. For teenagers, it indicates showing respect for Mom and Dad even if you think you know more than they do. For young adults, this means including your parents in your life. And for those in middle-age and beyond, it means making sure that parents are cared for as they move into old age or their health declines.
How can you honor your parents this week?
Dont miss the opportunity
To honor and obey
The parents God has given you
For theyll be gone someday. Sper

Happy Tuesday, TCP.
Sorry that I missed you yesterday. Nice to see that you had a good day ... even tho you had a 30 mile drive.
We have fog again today but it isn’t as dense as it was yesterday. We could use more rain but that will mean more fog.
Have a Terrific Tuesday.

She loved this Yorkie. She said to tell you Thank You.
She doesn’t get on FR much anymore. She has discovered Facebook and a couple of other sites.
To: The Mayor
Thank you for this very familiar message that we never get tired of hearing. Beautiful!

Good morning, Meg. Marissa really enjoyed your greeting. She asked me to thank you for her. She is growing up so fast.
To: jaycee
Happy Tuesday, Jaycee.
Marissa loved the cute graphic. She asked me to thank you. She spent her computer time on Facebook last night. She wants to do her own thing. :)
To: oldteen
Happy Tuesday, Teenie.
Marissa asked me to thank you for the cute Congratulations graphic. She will be 12 next week and spending very little time on FR. A year ago, she would go online so she could see all the graphics. Now she spends a lot of her computer time on either Facebook or YouTube. Scary!!!
